That was the most B-E-A-Utiful post I have ever read. It made me feel for the car like I was there. I have never heard such emotion from someone in a story about a car........ but this isn't A car..... this is THE Car, with a capital C. Car- not as in vehicle but as in CARmaro.

Thank you Scott for the posts and good stories. Keep them coming and long live Camaro........again!
Nice "Handle" there, my friend! I cracked up when I saw it!

The Yellow and Red V6 RSs that are on the internet cannot be sold -- they are IVERs and are comprised of pre-production parts and components that have not received final validation.

No - we cannot auction them off -- even if the winner of the bid signs a waiver holding us blameless .....because when the winner dies, that waiver does not transfer. I suspect we'll make them into project cars for SEMA perhaps -- but at some point -- they'll meet an unhappy end. (and yes, it bothers me to see that happen......)

There are many concepts that have been scrapped over the years -- the successful ones, for the most part, have been saved. Luckily cars like the Buick Y-job -- the LeSabre -- the Cadillac Cyclone -- and the Firebirds (I, II, and III) were saved years ago. For a long time, concepts were cut up and 'scrapped' -- only to find their way into private collections.

We now scrap by crushing so that this cannot happen. (unfortunately, perhaps....)
why? why not just leave tham to sit in some feild or something so people CAN find and restore them? they wouldn't be your responibility anymore, would they?

Yeah. True What is in The Heritage Collection Is Just A Fraction of what GM has Stashed away..
I Remember HOTROD magazine did a story many years ago titled "GM's TREASURE CHEST" OR "GM's TOY CHEST".. I forget which..but the cars they did have pics of...DAYUM!! my heart beat so hard i thought i would die.. i remember one CAMARO they had, was a prototype with rear steer wheels to help with parking, Like on some trucks..If I recall correctly the author stated the warehouse they went to was not special,or extravagant. BUT i wanna say in the warehouse district. NOT on the GM compound.(could be wrong on that tho.) AND HUGE i think the article said it was like 200,000- 300,00, sq ft. FULL of cars/trucks/concepts/prototypes..ETC. packed in like sardines..
Thats A Place I Would Love To Go Seee.....
Mention was made of A GM Museum.. Where Is This Museum you speak of?? I wanna go there too...

~~EDIT~~..The Article WAS in HOTROD Few yrs ago. it was called..
"Beyond The Toy Box"
Chevrolet Mules You Were Never Supposed To See.

http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicl...les/index.html Heres The Frist 2 paragraphs and A pic of the article..oh and there in the middle wearing red..is the CAMARO I mentioned..

You just can't do that! That silver coupe has to be put in the GM museum.

If the fiberglass push cars have to be destroyed, so be it but (and I know I've requested this before) I suggest that if there is a car you don't want crushed, just leave it in some corner of the parking lot one night, GM can't be liable on a stolen car, can it?
