It's true. Any place near where alcohol is being drunk is not a good place for a car that is expensive, looks expenisve or is just unique.

My friend has a great car, toyota FJ cruiser. not particularly expensive really but rare around are parts and it has a sense of style. One night after a house party with many strangers, he founds shards of glass all around it and the paint scratched in several areas. Some prick(s) had thrown their bud lights straight at several times.

Moral: people suck. people with alcohol prove this.

Unfortunately I've got nothing helpful to add other than agreeing with Tommy on the low hitch deal. People put hitches on vehicles that should never have hitches. Hell, I've seen a Corvette pulling a trailer, just think of how low that hitch would have had to have been (sheer stupidity of the owner aside). Stop calling the guy a liar when you don't know the story. The cause is irrelevant, he's just asking for solutions.

My best advice though is to talk to your insurance company. First explain to them what happened and that it was completely beyond your control and then enlighten them as to all the other insurance companies that would gladly take your business and most likely treat you properly. A little kindly worded threatening can go an awful long way.

Looks like someone kicked it to me. What would be that low that would not damage the bumper which protrudes out further but crease that one in so far? About foot height... Suck dude.

Now for advise... It is a comprehensive claim. Meaning you have no idea how it happened and you could not avaoid it. Usually comp claims will not raise you insurance but with a total on your record I dont know. You say it was not your fault? Did your insurance pay for the Challenger or the other guy? Did you get a citation? Only reason I see to pay out of pocket is because of you deductible. Its pretty high. I had a piece of metal hit my car when it had 200 miles on it. $1200 damage, comprehensive insurance claim, $100 deductible and its good as new.

First, get an estimate and go from there. You are about $700-$900 my guess.

You’re a lot nicer than I am! If I pay $10 to park in a lot with two attendants then in my book the club assumes some liability for the vehicles parked in the lot! Also I would check with the club while asking them to pay for at least part of the damage and see if there is video of the lot. Then I would remember to drop an attorneys name while talking with the manager. I think you have more to stand on here than you think especially since you had to pay to park in their lot. If you can find out how the damage occurred then you have more to go on.

Whoops did not see that you had siad that they did not have video of the lot

You have pictures of the car with the damage. I'd say you have nothing to loose if you try and push the plastic out by yourself. It should return to the normal shape.

My insurance covered my camry when I fixed it myself after someone ripped the bumper off of it while it was parked in the parking lot. I got a new bumper cover and grill out of it.

Another option someone mentioned was comprehensive, suppose you hit something in the road on the way home, and you didn't notice it until you got home, will your insurance cover that? Maybe it was a brick or something, or maybe whoever parked your car did it.

Is it my imagination or do mean people seem to be targeting Camaros? Do you think it's jealousy?

Sorry to see your beautiful car was damaged. Fortunately the damage seems to be isolated to one area and not over several panels of the car. Maybe it won't take too long to get it fixed.

Worst case you are looking at $500, that's for a new bumper and paint. Ask Dave Hiller @ Newman Chevrolet (where ScottyCamaro works) for a quote on a painted one even. His email address is dhiller@north2newman.com.

yes there are camaro haters out there, just last week i went to wall-mart and i parked waaaay away from everyone, came back out to my car and my car had been egged. Wall-mart manager said it was the first time he heard of such a thing. had to drive home with the frozen eggs and egg shells, it was a pain and the ass to get off.
