3rd gear no longer smooth on M6

Mine does it since it got cold, after trans temp comes up it seems ok
I can't even downshift into third when it is cold.
Didn't notice when it was new but that was in September

I put Royal Purple Synchromax manual transmission fluid in my car and I think it helped in most situations. I definately would reccomend it.

well i do run RP oil but i have not changed the trans fluid yet. i will problably do the RP route in there as well... i guess this is a sycro issue? i will have it looked at..

well all the Camaro is at the dealer being looked at. I will let you all know what the outcome is. OH yea the dealer show room floor had 3 Camaros on it.

So dealer felt and heard problem. Did not know what it was. Said he was going to Call GM tech services to see what they could tell him. He said IT COULD be the start of the syncro's going out but was not sure. Asked me to bring it back next week

Please let me know what you find out... I am currently out of the country, but as soon as I get back I'll be taking my car back in as well... AGAIN... Same issues I believe... I would like to be informed.... so I can argue the points if need be...

You know mine is doing it as well, I thought I was just being paranoid. Now I have to notice if it is only doing it when it is cold or when I shift from 1st to 3rd or 2nd to 3rd. I will give an update.

I know when I 1st got it and jumped on it I missed 2nd twice. I was thinking to myself how the F do you miss 2nd.

mine seems to be worse in the cold but it still does it when its warm
now im even more ticked because i have a nice Barton Shifter sitting in the box that I can not install until i get this fixed.
do want to give them any excuse for this issue

Mine is doing it as well but I too thought it was all in my head or that I was doing something wrong, but I don't shift any differently into 3rd than into any other gear.

+1 on keeping us updated. If it's something serious I'm sure we would all like to know so we can get it fixed...

Yup, I noticed this before putting her in the garage for winter. Thought I was being crazy and over reacting.

Same problem here! I took it in twice and the dealer said NTF (no trouble found). I also had 2nd gear miss shifts during hard accelleration. It's stored for the winter so I'll see what it does in the Spring! ittybittyfds, Good luck with yours, let us know your outcome!

well guys... I cracked. i had the barton sitting in the box waiting for the dealer to find whatever was wrong and fix it. after scouring the web and seeing numerus reports of the same scenario i was in..i couldn't take it. "I Installed the Barton short throw" GOD $%^$%^& that was the best thing I ever did. The Car is so much funner to drive with that short crisp solid shift, and oh yea 3rd is now smooth but, there is always a BUT...2nd feels clanky like 3rd used to. go figure. Anyways let me throw this out there. If you have not gone with a short throw I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

hmmmm thought to be a tranny issue, turns out to be a stock shifter issue?

Oh yeah, if you are hearing/feeling the "clank" in the Barton shifter, it is not a tranny issue. Most short throw shifters give that click/subtle clank going in each gate (so to speak). Hurst shifters does it and it sounds great!
