Congrats' on the new car! At least it sounds like you're happy with this car and I'm sure for good reason. I'm suprised by how many I'm seeing nowadays.

No, not the shark fin, the stick mast antenna - the old fashioned antenna for old fashioned AM/FM radio on the rear passenger quarter pannel that is so 1980 - no, really it's 1923 - technology.

You are getting the two antennas confused. The shark fin is for OnStar and satellite radio. I wish it was body color, but I can accept that it is what it is, besides it has to be on the roof for line of site reception from the satellites in space.

I'm talking about the AM/FM radio antenna that is the same as it's always been since the first car radio was introduced in 1923. It's 2008. There are manufacturers out there that haven't made a single car, truck, or SUV with a stick mast, power opperating, or any kind of radio antenna sticking out of any part of the car for a few years.

EVERY GM car should have this integrated into the rear window by now.

Yeah the Camaro will be great, but with the price, gas mileage and wait, I am perfectly happy with my cobalt. I don't need to scare anyone, I want people to mess with me. It adds effect to it when I smash them. Plus if you saw ME you would be scared. lol jkjk.

I'll probably end up with a Camaro sometime down the road anyway, but this will please me until then.

I almost got a cobalt instead of the Mazda 3. At the time Mazda had a better interior, MPG, and a 5 door.

After seeing the SS's I'm not so sureI made the right choice???????

Nice Ride!

Thank you. Mazda 3's arent bad, but I'm pretty sure I would rather have the turbocharged SS over it anyday. Not an 07 though. I wouldnt have ever considered it without this interior and the turbocharger.

Is the stick mast the option for the Camaro?? I would think it has to be integrated into th4 back windshield since every Pontiac currently in the lineup including the G8 is..

Yes, it will be integrated into the back window on the Camaro. The G5, since it is the sibling of the Cobalt, does not.

I think a majority of GM cars have it, but I find it absolutely unacceptable, at any price range or any class of car, to still have that antenna. With the exception of convertables (since your AM/FM radio reception would be diminished when you lower the roof and the window goes down into the car). And if you noticed, for the convertable Camaro, they will use the low profile antenna that is only about 6 inches tall.

Yeah, but yours was a 2007, right? Meaning before the 2009 refresh. I'm waiting for some more reviews to come out of the 2009, but the styling looks much better than it did before the refresh. Other than the spoiler. That would definitely have to go.

P.S. - Heres a short write up on the new 09 eclipse... 'course, remember, this is only if, for some reason, I can't get the Camaro. Which, well, is not likely at this point unless they decide to cancel my enlistment bonus. At which point I wouldn't be able to afford the eclipse either.

Thats right, the G5 and the cobalt have the older antenna's.. I don't mind the older antenna's but prefer the look without them and without the fin as well.

I don't like the radio antenna, but I actually kind of like the shark fin. When I was younger, it was one of those things that only the better cars had, and I used to want to have a car with one.

I think you made a great choice. The interior is great. The red inserts are sweet.

Great choice. I hope you enjoy it. I wouldn't have bought an 04 GTO over that. Even though it's FWD, it's a well put together car from what I've read.
