I did not have to put a deposit down either since I know the owner. I am sure I would have had too anywhere else though.

we are not ordering the cars.... but simply just putting our names on the waiting list for the dealers first allocations of the car. There shouldnt be any deposits being made to a reputable dealer, only shady dealers will try to get a deposit...
I did this same thing when I ordered my 2010 SS.. After I test drove the silver concept in May of 2006 ( yes I have a video to prove it cause so many people think I am lying..lol) When I returned home from detroit in May 06 I went straight to a local dealer and put my name on a list just in case they built a camaro. Needless to say nearly 2 yrs later I placed my order on Oct 13,2008 and still didnt put down a deposit. When the car arrived on May 14, 2009 was when the money was exchanged and I drove her home. I intend to do the same thing, soon as I can get my hands on a Z28!! |

I sat on a list for 3 years and I got the #1 car from the dealer. My name has been on a list for a year now and I'm #1 to order.

the markup varied from dealer to dealer... most reputable dealers held to their word and sold the cars at MSRP as they promised.
I was lucky enough to get my car for supplier discount even being an early production one... but I have heard that there were dealers out there who were marking the cars up over $8k when they first hit the lots.... in this type of situation you just have to do your homework and find a good dealer who will back their word. With todays resources at our fingertips it isnt hard to do.. |
