Anybody figure out an effective way to solve this type of rattle? I'm running a JL 12 W6, and the low volume rattle is really startin to wear on me! I already tried the weatherstrip fix and it helped with trunk rattling on the rear window but the mounting surface of the rear speakers still rattles like a SOB. I have some extra b-quiet deadner from my install, and although im not lookin forward to pulling out the entire rear interior of the car just to access the rear deck, it's lookin like my only option. Has anyone gone this route? I would really like some confirmation that this isn't going to be a huge waste of time. Thanks!

All the people on this forum with subs, and absolutely no one has addressed this? Are there people here with subs that don't have this issue? Or are people just living with it?

I have addressed this. Mine used to rattle with just my exhaust tone and no music playing at all, this was before I did the sub install. I installed a ******** box a couple of weeks ago and used Fat Mat sound deadner. I was planning on installing the sound deadner even before I decided to do the ******** box. It was alot of work but, I think it was well worth the time and effort. I removed the entire interior up to the front seats / were the carpet begins. I put Fat Mat underneath the rear deck (in the center where the factory retaining clips come through), and on the rear deck on the inside of the car. The stock 6 x 9 speaker housings suck to say the least. They only use one screw to secure them. The other side is just a bracket that slides over the rear "metal" deck. This is the main place you are getting the rattle from. I used some small pieces of Fat Mat on the 6 x 9 brackets were they touched the metal rear deck. I also removed the stock 6 x 9s when I put the Fat Mat down on top of the rear deck. So when I reinstalled the speakers they did not touch metal, they touch Fat Mat. Unfortunatly I did not take pictures of these small details. Here is a picture of the inside of the car when I was almost done installing the Fat Mat. Hope this helps you guys. By the way, after installing the sound deadner, the road noise is dramatically reduced.

None at all. It really is a worthwhile addition to your car even if you don't plan on installing a sub IOM.
