The best way would be to have a professional do it if you have not done this before.

I got my first one the other day that I noticed. I just don't like the look of clear bra. Espec. on a black car.

Get the Dr. Colorchip kit. Supposedly it works great on road rash (small chips) if you have a non-metallic color - to the point of some discriminating eyes not being able to tell that there were ever chips to begin with. I will be buying a kit to fix the rash on mine before I install the splash guards and take it out of storage.

Mine has about 20 of them on both back gills. I only have 4,500 miles on mine since July. I called my dealership and they said it was the first they'd heard of it... really?? So I ordered my splash guards from GMPartsdirect.com for $160 shipped and will install them, then spend another $200 flipping dollars on clear bra for the gill section. BUT, only after I spend more money on the touch up paint first. This just stinks!

I'm fortunate that I have a clear bra on the front, 24" of my hood and backside of my mirrors or I would have a few more chips than I do. I have 5 small chips on the driver's side gills and 4 on the passenger side but like a previous poster stated, I can only see them when I am up close. Most people wouldn't see them unless they were looking for them. After 13,400 miles I would expect to have a few chips though.

Just checked and sure enough I've got 3 chips near or on the gills.

I guess I have to try Langka. How exactly would you clearbra the gills anyways?

I was wondering the same thing. Getting in those indents might be difficult unless it stretches a bit.

I've got them on mine. Just gave it a good wax and noticed them last weekend! Really sucks but I've got almost 9k miles on it and I guess its gonna happen. I even have one at the top of the rear fender. They don't show up till you wax and then catch that extra wax. I don't think the clear bra would work on black, there is a little patch of it in front of the rear wheels and the edge of it always catches wax and shows white. Very noticable, even when driving. Not sure about the paint thickness but when my hood got crinkled by a deer, some of the paint flaked off. I was messing with it and pulling more off. It is actually rather flexible and would seem to be rather durable. Probably as this as 7 sheets of paper or so (have to check, never really tried to measure it). Everyone tells me not to drive it and get a beater, but I like it too much. What good is it in my garage? Guess I'll have to live w/ the chips.

Why would it not work on black??? Clear bras will work on any color and will provide protection from rock chips... so you dont have to live with them. As I tell everyone, the EPA is the reason why today's paint jobs are so soft... no matter what vehicle manufacturer. And with the direction of our current administration, its only going to get worse.
