Did you notice any seat of the pants change as far as response goes? Do you still have the resonator in as well? I was thinking of JBA shortys myself just doing my homework first...

I can't say I've notice a big difference, if any, in the butt-dyno department. That may be due to the fact that I've been driving slower intentionally so I can hear the tone on low RPMs! Yes, the original resonators are still in tact.

The Shorties don't do anything for the butt dyno, it's only for sound. If you want more power out of the header upgrade, do longtubes.

So after about 100 miles, I got the dreaded CEL.
I knew it was probably 2097 or 2099 but I pressed the OnStar button and asked for a diagnostic and she said it had something to do with the emissions and to take it to the dealership. I went to AutoZone for confirmation and low and behold, 2099. Bank 2, too rich. So, I had the headers installed at the dealership and the service manager said 90 day warranty on labor. They're closed right now, but do you think they'll fix it or say that since it's an aftermarket part, that that is the reason the CEL is on. I know that there is most likely a leak and even reminded them to use RTV on the stackers when installing them. Also, I found out that the remote start doesn't work when the CEL is on. In fact, after trying to remote start a few times, putting the key in the ignition and turning it didn't work either! I had to take the key out and start over. I was crapping my pants when the engine didn't turn the first time! Is there a way that I can clear the code myself? Will pulling fuses 5 and 20 do anything? When I installed my CAI, I had the CEL come on and I pulled the fuses and after a few ignition cycles, the CEL went away. I wonder if that'll work. Any suggestions from you pros out there?

Oh, and JBA is now owned by: Pertronix Performance Products 440 E. Arrow Highway, San Dimas, CA 91773 Local Phone: 909-599-5955 As for clearing the codes... an inexpensive ODB-II scan tool should be able to clear it...

Hey scrming, I had my codes cleared but what are the long term effects of having what is apparently a leak in the headers? It turns out that I had both P2097 and P2099 codes.

The thing that has me wondering is we've double checked everything and Scott swears I don't have a leak... so the question is can we get these codes even with out a leak?

I remember the service manager saying how careful they were with the install. Of course I said great, now give me the bill. I can stop by this week and see what they remember about the install.
