On a RWD Chevy? I hope so. I also hope it's not the Impala -- because sales will tank, almost guaranteed. The Impala target market is not exactly performance-sedan oriented.....The next Impala needs a flagship redesign inside and out, imo, with AWD offered. I don't know how the RWD sedan can fit in....

we'll see, I guess...
An AWD Chevy sedan would be mighty interesting.

Coupe Cruze SS sounds very good. I could understand them taking out Coupes being an option if they didn't sell, however this just isn't the case with the Cobalt, nor should it be with its successor.

Was the coupe ever a seriously in question for the long term Cruze plan? There's obviously demand for econocoupes and money to be made with minimal extra work involved.

No market for a rear drive large sedan? With the aging boomer population? The Impala sales are down because its old, outdated, and front drive. A well built new age Impala/ Caprice would sell like hotcakes. Keep the weight similar to Camaro, with the LLT and similar performance, and there would be plenty of sales, not counting fleet and police models. I would purchase an new Impala SS long before a Camaro SS. I agree, the problem with the G8 was the marketing, not the car itself. Ford has abandoned the market, and the Mopar offerings are based on an aging platform and are showing their age and limitations. I would love to have a new Caprice/ Impala with the LLT if it performed similar to the Camaro and had similar fuel economy. Not everyone that enjoys large sedans has Cadillac money.

Methinks you need to take a look at Impala sales...still holding strong even though the car is ancient.

Not saying a new model isn't needed NOW, just saying sales aren't down at all, in fact they were up 38% for February.

Have to disagree with you MikesZ. I've been looking for a full-size RWD sedan for the last 4 months. Something based on the Zeta would be ideal. Keep it under $30k with offerings of the 3.6L DI (300HP with 30MPG) or the LS3/L99 for enthusiasts with an interior like the Cruze and exterior akin to this:

Call it the Impalla, call it the Chevelle, I don't care, I'll take one in silver

GM needs to bring back a full sized RWD Impala, the G8 was too ugly to be a real Impala.

looks ugly IMO. 1994-1996 Impalas still look WAY better than that.

No offense but you drive a Cobra - we simply don't have the same taste in styling

Sorry, but I'd prefer something that was along the lines of an AMERICAN design and inspiration rather than some plain jane Saab or Volvo looking contraption. I'll take that car as my patrol vehicle, but that's pretty much it.

Some like the mundane I guess, whatever floats your boat

I would love to see a 2 door version of this car. I don't really know why because I doubt if I would ever buy one. But none the less, I think a performance 2 door GM ricer would be cool for the youngsters to compete against the asian competition.

So you are willing to spend copious amount of time in this vehicle - I think we found something to agree on

I guess my seat is in the back, behind the plexiglass??
