There's supposed to be a rubber hose on the overflow that runs through a grommet in the bottom of the battery well. Don't see how you could get an acid leak unless one end of that hose came out of it's designated place or the case is cracked

All cilly sheet uh side. Once you get an acid spill on a piece of metal It's hard to neutralize it and stop corrosion, it just seems to keep coming back deteriorating the metal until you have holes. Keep an eye on it.

I see the Delco batteries leak acid all the time. They leak from where the lug is molded into the plastic. Most of the time it is damage caused by corrosion, but I've seen fairly new, non-corroded Delco batteries leak as well.

Look's like we will be needing a acid proof battery drip pan!Dang.Always something else to worry about.

Okay, so I was cleaning my car today, and decided to take the inflater out, and have a look at the battery. YAY! battery acid on the paint at the bottom! i wiped it off, and YAY! Rust on the metal below the paint that the acid ate off! Emailed dealer this evening, and will take it in whenever they can fit me in. Im hoping that they do more than wipe it off and send me on my way. If there is rust visible, or bare metal viable, i will not be happy.

sorry the pics are great, thanks apple.

Me too !! I had to take all my cleaning stuff out of the trunk just to see it!
Then I gave the metal under there a shot of quick detailer and spray wax.
I didn't know that there was a air compressor in there !

If you have corrosion take some pics from futher away so we can see where it is better.
