What are they talking about 6 grand in taxes????? I figured sales tax at 7.75% and on a 40k car it's $3100.

Even if they consider the MSRP as income, pay the 6 grand in tax upfront now..... you should get some of it back come income tax time.

Here's the time when it will pay for you to consult a CPA. That 6 grand in tax sound fishy.

I understand this must sound crazy all of a sudden some guy comes on and boom he has one of the cars in January. I am not a computer wiz and I am very busy 7 days a week. I know they were talking about announcing the camaro a short time ago and was wondering if anybody new more than me which is basically nothing. If you can help with info on the car than thanks if not than thanks for listening.

Sorry but I dont think anyone is going to know about the BB camaro....that we know of nothing is even being built yet for production purposes.

I apologize the 6000 was for taxes and insurance. And this is my estimate. Who cares the car is worth more than that easily and I don't have to claim it until my 09 taxes another year.

I'm just going from what I see. And that link originally came from the Chevy website as this is a GM promotion.

I'm just being honest. The thing is, I'm just being honest and practical. I don't think it'll be 40k, but I think there's a possibility it'll be more expensive than people want it to be (which seems to be 30k or so). I'd like that too, but it may not happen.

People who get upset over guesses on pricing are just shutting out a part of their brain. The logical part.

And I know I know... From all reliable sources around here, Camaro pricing will be priced competitively with the Mustang. And it WILL surprise you.

Again, I don't think the car will be 40k.

My guess is a little higher than 30k. Maybe 33 for a V8 like the one the guy on the board ordered. The GTO was priced that high and the Camaro is arguably more car than that.

Well Ocologan,

For starters, you can check this thread out:

It has pics from last week's Indianapolis show taken by many members of this forum. Everything you could want to see about the Camaro is there.

Most likely, it will be an SS/RS automatic. Which means, you get the 6.2 V8 with AFM and a 6 speed automatic. I'm guessing they will be giving away an automatic because very few sweepstakes companies give away manuals anymore. Most people drive automatics, and they are generally thinking of the masses and not enthusiasts when they select prizes to hand out. If they (the people you won the car from) are estimating the MSRP to be 40k (which I seriously doubt even a fully loaded Camaro with all the accessories will hit), I'd say it will be fully loaded (leather, moonroof, ambient interior lighting package, bluetooth) Much of this info is on this forum, if you just take a few minutes to check out the other threads.

I do remember Scott (Fbodfather, our reliable source direct from GM) saying that the true Bumblebee paint job would be impossible to replicate on a mass produced car if you want to keep the price in check. There will be a color similar to it, and black stripes available as dealer installed accessories, to make the car look like Bumblebee, but there will be no "Bumblebee" option package or color.
