detailer clay will take out stains from acid rain, bird droppings left to long, scrathes in the clearcoat. Clay gets all the dirt and grime off the paint surface and your wax will stay on longer, any autozone or parts store has it. And number 14 post on this thread is the way to wash and keep all cars clean, good post.

Dark colors have more pigment in the paint, light colors have less thats why they tend to fade if not kept up/waxed.

Well, I already know that black is gonna suck, maintenance wise that is. However, I just have to get this car in black. Black is my favorite color for a car. I have never owned a black car (though my wife used to have a 99 GrandAm that was black).

id love to find the color car that you guys seem to think exists where it stays clean and shiny without wash....

black, white, blue, red, gray...im pretty sure if you don't wash it once a week or two...chances are its not going to shine..black or not, I have owned both...and if you think a scratch or paint chip stands out on black!?!....own white or gray

I'm probably going IBM because I like that it's a dark blue (although I like my NBM better) and I think the contours and curves will change or flop color a little bit in the sun helping to enhance everything more.

You can't deny black is sweet though
the dust is from the wax. if you use a good cloth towel it shouldnt leave any dust.

thats due to it sitting outside for a long period of time. it would happen with any color.

How does red paint compare with black or silver? Is it easier to take care of like silver, or pretty hard like black?
