I Put a Kenwood 9140 in mine and the sound quality is great. When a movie is playing, the surround sound is pretty neat.

That may have been BS. I have the first one installed in the country and at first the door chimes and blinker sounds were VERY amplified. It was loud enough to hear from outside the car with the doors closed. I talked to Metra and they told me that there are volume controls in the back that needed to be adjusted. I took it back to car toys and they made the necessary adjustments. No problems since than.

Does the Metra color match the rest of the interior? I'm looking to add a D-DIN pretty soon.

getting ready to install my metra and aftermarket equipment, metra says everything is in the kit,,1. did your steering controls (vol,mute,etc) work with just what was in the metra kit,,,2. did you have to purchase anything else. and 3. where did you connect the vss wire?

Also how did your factory setting options such as car settings work with a different radio?

I am pretty sure they don't, you have to set them how you want them before replacing.

The vehicle customization settings can be changed after the radio is removed, but you will need an Axxess Display Module. You can get them on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Axxes...fAudioQ5fVideo

It's probably easier just to get the settings where you like them before pulling the OE radio.

Installed a Kenwood DNX-9960 2010. Had it installed since Metra first came out, was hard to find but good stuff.
