That is alot of air.

So let me get this straight. There are 2 ways to program them? One is to use the scan tool, the other is to let air out of the tires?

Yeah it wouldn't since they were already set from the manufacture already.

SO are you saying I can do all this myself and don't need to take it to the dealer for programming? They want $60. Also, from what I've done so far, are we sure the sensors are in there?

You can do it all yourself. You have to follow the steps in the owner's manual. And you will need air nearby to re-air up the tires.

The process has you release air for 10 seconds and then wait up to approx 30 seconds for a horn beep. If the horn beeps within 30 seconds after a 10 second air release, the system recognized the position of that sensor.

$60 is criminal for something you can do yourself at the valve stem. But that's why they call them stealerships.

yep, if you don't wanna wait, use the compressor in your trunk. after they are relearned of course

be careful, i blew the power outlet fuses when i tried using it to air up my tires! and that was probably because the car was off in the on position with the radio on so the battery was being drained

Please read. I bought these wheels separate. I had them on the camaro before and not problem. They did not come with the car. The original wheels are polished.

You would cry too if your dealer sold you a wrecked camaro first. That dealer is highly suspect man.

I didn't see it mentioned before, but you only have I think 5 minutes to complete the procedure for all 4 tires before the sysems gives up waiting for you. It really doesn't take very long at all. I still need to do it since rotating my tires, but I have already done it once before. Easy.

The dealer is an idiot. I called 3 dealers. Talked to the service depts all said I need to bring the car in and pay from $60 to $80 to get the sensors programmed. They could have told me how to do it myself.

This was definitely a learning experience.Just shows that we do not think clearly in the heat of the moment. But if we had experienced what he had , we would be HIGHLY suspicious of additional actions on the dealers part.To bad that dealers will stoop this low in these economic times when their survival is so dependent on customer satisfaction.Oh well good outcome.Glad you resolved your issues.Great help and support from the forum as always!
