As I reach highway 9, another tornado touches down not 300 meters on my right, as I am heading West. Pulled me off the road pretty hard almost pulled me into a ditch. Dropped the ebrake and pressed on my brakes with all the force I could. Car didn't budge. Then came an outward "explosion" of just all types of crap! Signs, dirt, grass, dust, poles! A taurus 2 cars infront of me got smacked by one breaking his back right window and passenger door. He was okay and was laughing about it after. Anyway when I saw the wind die down I took off again and got onto 12th where it was tornado-less! As I look around all I see are flipped cars, traffic jams, sirens, poles everywhere, signs everywhere. Except for a lot of dirt and grass nothing hit my car (thank god!) although my front axle seems to be responding weird (going to check it out later) but I was scared sh**less! Never had one spiral right on me before. I was lucky, there were quite afew cars overturned and others blown into ditches. Couple boats from a nearby place were flipped. Finally got to friends house to find him sitting on his porch with a beer open watching the clouds!

Glad to hear everything is ok with you. I'm deeply sorry for all of the Folks up in the Norman and Chocktaw area who lost there homes or anything Valuble to them in there life. As long as you are ok thats all that matters.

All that crap started developing around my part of the state, but all we saw was crazy strong winds. A lot of stuff got demolished yesterday around the state.

I would say something about no pictures being present on this thread, but after thinking about it I understand that I would be too busy screaming to snap a picture.... Glad to hear you and your car were ok.

It’s a blessing that you and your camaro were alright with so many other people in Norman, Ok. But seriously, my condolences to the family who didn’t make it and lost everything.

I'm glad to hear you guys are okay.
I know exactly where you're talking about, I get to Norman once or twice a year to the Postal Training Facility (NCED) And I know how wicked some of the storms and tornados I've seen there were.
Stay safe out there!

Army, glad to hear you and the car made it through all of that unscathed. Sounds like you needed a cold beer one by that point as well. Ya'll have had some really unpredictable weather up there.

The Weather Channel is predicting another "possible" tornado outbreak in Texas, OK and KS tomorrow afternoon/night (Wednesday). Right now each state has about a 50% chance of a tornado. Please be safe out there. They aren't sure if all the elements will be in place for another super outbreak. Will know more by tomorrow. Be safe and check the radar before hitting the road

haha I'm really sorry to laugh at this, we all know about a week in advance when this is going to happen...the thing is we wont know exactly where one will drop until it happens, and its always early evening when everyone is trying to get home so avoiding them is difficult for most. If I stayed home every time the radar looked bad I wouldn't have a job Still upset about those dings though...

no vehicle damage? I'm surprised you didn't have hail associated with the tornado. didn't get hit by a cow like on the movie Twister? seriously though, glad you're ok. You're in tornado alley and I know it's tough living out there. I have family in KS and they get several outbreaks a year in their area. Don't want to see any flying Camaros!!
