GM cannot see our tunes if resflashed back to stock before you go in. IIRC, they can on the v8 cars, or at least are close too, but not on the v6 cars.

well drove the car about 500 miles in two days, felt great, no more speed limiter and no ck engine light. Took the car in for inspection and no problem either car passed so that alone to me was well worth the money for the tune.

sweet, good to hear, I am thinking of a tune soon... eventhough I dont have the headers yet. But I just want to play with the torque management settings. Also, I have so many mods I want to get into... but all costs money, gotta decide which one I want to do first.

Yeah its always about the $$. I was going to wait as well, but that inspection sticker was going to expire any day now and the police in my area are pretty hard, they go to shopping centers, parking lots , even drive down streets looking for ways to give tickets, 65$ or more a pop , get several of those and it just makes economical sense. The tune is worth it. car does drive much better. good luck

Jagan323 -- I'm having to take my LTs off, I'll give you a good deal if you are interested. Be forwarned:

1) They made my SLP Loudmouth II much loader
2) They created some raspiness around 2400-2800 RPM
3) They are 1-3/4 and reduced the back pressure more than I would have liked (seemed to lose some low-end power (no dyno to prove it)
4) They didn't add a lot of high-end power over what the Injen did, but it did have a good kick about 3500 RPM.

If the Hi-flow cats come off I'll sell them, too (they may be where most of the power came from anyway). Just PM me and I'll give you what I'm think of asking for them.

#2 is what keeps me from switching to LTs...

Yeah, that was kinda disappointing. Resonated X-pipe may take care of it, but I wouldn't bet money on it. I got used to it, but it isn't the sound an old fart like me was looking for. My 21-year-old nephew loves it, though.

What will a tune get me?

I have a 1LS (V6). 1500miles. Added Flowmaster 11235 mufflers, Injen CAI and 19" 2LT tires and wheels. Actually dropped about 10lbs per wheel going from Heritage 18x7.5 245/55R18 to 19x8 245/50Z19 chromed aluminum wheels.
If I get a tune - Trifecta or other - what will it do for me?
- Will I feel more power?
- Will shift points be changed? I expect to get better MPG from exhaust and CAI as long as I keep my foot out of it.
- Will a tune also help my MPG?
- Which tune can I get an be able to switch back to stock if I need to take in for warranty work?
Thanks in advance for the help.

- from just the tune... no you won't really feel more power...

- I have Vince change my light throttle shift points. This allows the car to stay in a little bit higher RPM at light throttle, which give you a better feeling... you are a bit more in the power band. He didn't change the heavy throttle shift point

- However, he also FIRMED up the shift points! They are much better now! You can actually tell the car is shifting! He also reduced my torque management a bit.

- Don't know if it will really help MPG.. most likely not...

- Buy Vince EZ-Flash cable... you can then put the stock tune back when ever you need...
