People, the bottom line here is we need to be "selling" this car every chance we get! The more that get sold, the less likely it will be that we get our Camaro taken away from us again by slumping sales.

100% agreed, Camaro sis!!!...I take my car to shows for the pure joy of talking about it and I feel like a 'walking and talking Camaro commercial'...(are you listening, GM? )...lol....

I just know I must have 'sold' a few with my 'unbridled enthusiasm', and vast array of knowledge about everything connected to this car...

I have also cleared up a few misconceptions, such as people thinking this car cost $50,000+...they are shocked when I tell them the base price...they are also shocked when I tell them the HP for the V6...

Took mine to a cruise night last week and was surprised the amount of people that went over the car.

I plan on entering my 2SS in a show coming up but not sure which Category would be my best chance to win in - either the "Chevys 1981 to current" or "Muscle cars" category?

You bet! I had two 69 Camaros I used to show. A Pro Street and a Resto Mod. There were always current vintage cars at the shows. Of course we gave them grief about the time it took to restore their cars. All in good fun. Nothing like putting $40,000 - $50,000 in a car and getting a $10 trophy. LOL. Have some fun with it. Lots of nice folks showing.

Thanks Sis! I got to meet a guy a couple of weeks ago with his VR Camaro that I had "sold" to him and his wife at a show last summer!

Depends on what all you have done to your car. Generally if you have three or less modifications, you belong in the "Stock" class. This is naughty of me to say, but since you asked, it is your best chance to win because your car is in a lot better shape than most cars in that class. "Muscle" class cars have generally had more modifications done to them, engines etc., if you have done three or more mods you go there, if they lump all years in that class together you will have a much tougher time getting a win.
Remember all, poster asked and as a car show judge, I'm just giving my opinion.

Hay, Don't put us all in the same boat. I'm 67 and love all auto technology. I've been restoring antique cars for over 40 years but love my new Camaro.
The question is do I take the restored Rocket 88, or the Camaro to the next show. I can only drive one at a time. Will have to mix it up.
By the way, do you think they will ever come out with a cell phone with a 'dial' instead of buttons ? I'de buy that- lol.

I have judged OCA meets beore, so I recommend the Rocket 88!!!

However, when judging a car/class, I never once took into consideration of how new the car was, or how much was spent on a restoration, or how well I knew the model being judged (I usually had help in that area anyway if I wasn't an expert). I judged strictly off the points sheet. Obviously, the newer the car, or the fresher the resto, things will be way easier to maintain, but it's still a car in the class being judged. But in a lot of cases, car shows sometimes have a class of "modern" vehicles, like a "2000-up" class.

Enter and have fun!!! Take what you get and learn from the judging sheet. A perfect score is almost unattainable, but I've seen close.

Another weekend, another trophy! A big one this time. Beat 5 Stangs and a Pontiac TA, any day I can smoke a Stang is a good day in my book. Several people were just thrilled to see the Ruby Jewel, they had not seen one up close. I also answered questions all afternoon. Thats what I mean when I say, we have to "sell" this car every chance we get!

I took mine to a big show in Cocoa Beach, FL this past weekend, there was one other 2010 and it was the ABM color. There was also a new (not sure of what yr model) Orange Challenger there that ended up parked next to me. I couldn't tell you the number of people that stopped and talked to me about my car and how awesome it is LOL! Didn't win any prizes but I wasn't going for that anyway, however there was a group there taping for an upcoming tv show and they came over and asked if they could interview me with my car, as the guy put it my b***hin Camaro! I say take it and be proud to show it, as long as they don't have a restriction on the years that can enter that is. Most however are open and seem to welcome our cars.
