They have nothing to hurt by sending the Mustang through the roof.

I'm still putting my money on the 'Vert being the last Camaro variant before the new generation of V8's.
I 100% agree with you.

GM really does seem to be throwing the Camaro under the bus for the Corvette as I understand it. That was one of the reasons they stated for the lack of improvements in the 2011 model, no?

I have no idea about the Corvette's sales numbers and profit per unit, but I'd imagine artificially limiting one car just not to step on another's toes is model suicide. The competition isn't forced to do this so you're setting yourself up for failure when your main advantage was performance in comparison to the competition.

That's just how I feel, I may be wrong.

The Corvette is the Camaro's glass ceiling.

Unless it is a very low volume very expensive camaro they want to make. And by low volume I don't even mean anywhere near the number of how many GT500s are built a year.

From a business standpoint, Camaro didn't really need any improvements. It was a blockbuster for GM and as far I know, sales were still moving briskly. A lot of people, myself included, were agitating for bigger sways and shorter gearing, but for 9 out of 10 buyers, maybe 95 out of a 100, they aren't making that decision on that ground. Making improvements where none are really necessary is just eating into GM's profit. Plus I think GM was surprised at how much Camaro ate into Corvette sales.

The boss would be sick to bring back but I hope Ford talked to Shelby about bringing the boss back. If they didn't they might just end up pissing him off again seeing as how the boss was created by an ex-Chevy guy who wanted to put Shelby out of business. He might not care as much anymore though since he doesn't really have much to do with the factory GT500 other than having his name on it.

Saleen did a much better job of it in 2007 imo and he had a better looking car to work with. Honestly i really like everything ford has done to the mustang including the interior change's, the new motor but #$% me for the 100000000x get rid of that brutal rear end it wrecks the car in a large way.

440hp, 7500rpm+, lighter, way more track oriented than GT.

Rumor has $36k price on Boss 302. Not many luxury options though.

Main option pack: Recaro race buckets + torsen differential.

Just like the retro Mustang was years ahead of Camaro, retro Boss years ahead of Chevy alternative (Z/28?).

Of course, rumor has it that Chevy isn't even taking Z to light/fast, but making a "Chevy CTS-V". Yuk.
