Every time I asked about a Camaro I was offered a test drive. Also, I looked at a Challenger after they first came out, the dealer marked it up to $54K. Salesman asked me if I was interested and I told him for that kind of money I'd be intersted in a Vette. The thing I didn't like about the Challenger was that it weighs over 4000 lbs. Otherwise it was a nice car.

I traded in my 09 Challenger RT for my 10 Camaro 2SS
BIG difference challenger interior is BLAH just took the charger dash and pretty much threw it in there seats are uncomfortable. 2 hour drive and i would CONSTANTLY be leaning side to side to releive pressure from my legs because they kept falling asleep handling.... not even gonna begin to start with that HOWEVER i really have nothing against the chally, i loved that car, just the camaro is nicer in a WHOLE lot of areas... and you can get a fully loaded camaro for 35, i have the 2ss, i think the only thing i didnt get was the color match interior which i thought was just took much orange. think i walked (drove) away with the car for 33,500 is what i got them down to. Get a ride in the camaro, then go drive the chally again, and then the camaro again... i think your choice will be easy at that point |

One thing to clarify. Your "problem" isn't w/ Chevrolet, it's with the dealership. Chevrolet just builds the car, it's the dealership that gives you test drives. Find a new dealer. There were a few dealers here that only had 1 showroom car when the things first started hitting the lots, wouldn't let you drive w/out a contract. The next sound they heard were my footsteps walking away. Found another dealer, bought their car.

There must be something about your appearance that sways them from allowing you to drive one. And not having a job isn't the best time to be looking for a new Hot Rod. And you could always go to Avis. The Camaro car owning experience is a lifetime of fun- the dealership purchasing experience is a few days of pain.

Bigger question. Why are you buying any $30,000 without a job? I might have missed that.

I went to a dealership here in Vegas, and told the salesman up front that I only wanted to sit in one to see the interior and was not interested in buying right away. I'd never seen one besides having them drive by on the street. He still insisted I take it for a drive even though I had to wrangle my daughter's car seat in the back of it. I'll probably wait until the dealerships offer to match up to a certain amount of your tax return next year before I buy. That'll give me more time to pay down my Mazda some more and I'm always down for free money.
