and no, I got 15 from past experience. It's a ballpark figure because I've actually seen 12-16hp increase on import cars dyno sheet. My rsx gained just over 13.
He has an axleback exhaust MRT 2.0 and that's it to my knowledge at the time of the dyno. I think he now has shorties and a tune. You can't really compare a totally different type of car to how it'll perform on the Camaro. What we're running into here is that the stock box is actually a pretty darn good CAI. It gets cooler air from down below where the snorkel is. So gains are looking pretty minimal across CAIs.

On those imports, the stock box might've not been so good, so yeah of course there would be a bigger gain over stock.

scrming was already running the MRT 2.0, the JBA shorty headers, an already modified stock air box, and I'm pretty sure he had a tune as well.

Now he prolly went back to the stock tune for his testing purposes, but he definitely had a fair amount of mods.

I don't remember seeing anyone going completely from stock to the Injen and dynoing that, but that would be great.

Oh ok sorry. I thought that the Injen was before the shorties. Sorry guys, spouting my mouth without doing the research on that one.

ok, well depending on the funds, i'll try and get a base dyno on my stock car, then one with just injen, then one with headers and exhaust. i'd love to get an individual dyno with each piece, but that's gonna cost too much i think. I might be able to get 4 in and do stock/injen/bbk LT/complete setup which is the injen/bbk LT's/corsa.

Don't know if i feel like taking stuff off just to get individual dyno's for each part. lol since i'll be doing all the install.

Well if anything, even if you just did stock airbox versus the Injen on the dyno, that would be GREAT! (lots of people would appreciate that)...anything after that you tested on the dyno would just be icing on the cake.

Only problem is trying to do the runs on same day (which I know you can't do all that on same day....maybe stock vs. Injen though )...else if the weather is 70s one day and 80s or 90s the next time it will skew the results. On the other hand...some people say the car will run better over time with the Injen....so...that just kinda throws what I said out the window! I still think a back to back run is the best comparison though.

But its your money, so don't feel like you have to dyno this just cuz we asked! lol.

hey, i'm willing to help the v6 community any way i can!

perhaps i'll dyno my stock car at like 10am one day, then the same time the next. the temperature should be about the same. to do same day, i'd have to go to the dyno, go home, install the intake, then go back to the dyno. which is doable...i'll talk to the shop with the dyno and see what they think...

CAIs on the V6 are pretty much appearance and sound mods anyway. Not even the mighty Injen gains enough for it to really be considered "performance" IMO. For what I wanted out of the intake, it accomplished it in spades. It's much louder, deeper, and looks badass.

I don't think so either. He did do stock tune, and I believe tuned as well. And this was against v1 tube, not v2.

The Injen does feel better over time, as mine has been on for a few thousand miles. I love it. Gains? I can't say 100% because I didn't do a baseline before Injen and new mods already done. I did do an after, but with LTs on the car, as well as hiflows and tune, the gain I saw was inevitable. With the Injen, IAT temps do come down quite quickly (even in stock location where my IAT is now), throttle response is improved and the look is awesome!

Have you already installed your intake? I'm a bit behind, which one did you get?
