Some initial tire calculations without knowing the correct offset adjustment would be:

Front: 255/30ZR21
Rear: 295/25ZR22

Again, this is without knowing current offset and what adjustment would need to be made. Of course this is for a "big" look, not necessarily for handling or treadwear.

im going for the "concept"look. what size are the tires that come on the 21's that are offered through the dealer? the fronts on the 20's of the ss are a 265 and i dont imagine why you wouldnt be able to get atleast that up front.295 would be great in the rear without having it stick out too far from the fenders(preferably not at all) and the 265 in front would be ok if i can get it in without rubbing.

I asked Scott this a few months ago and if my memory serves my correct it was 305/21 and 325/22, he didn't mention the aspect ratios but I'd guess about 30-35 on the front and 25-30 on the rears.

Don't quote me on this though!

I'm hoping I can at least add 20x10 wheels in the back, but with IRS, I'm not sure.....

Here, I'll quote you.

Actually, it's front=275/30ZR21 & rear=305/30ZR22.

That's it? The rears on the concept looked waaaaay wider than that. But I know there was a 305 in there somewhere so I guess you're right.

? for the wheel guys... is 20" fronts and 22" rears too big of a size difference? I'd love that stance, but 21" tires cost mucho dinero! And I don't want the aspect ratios on the tires to even things out... I'm talking true staggered 28" tires in the front and 30" in the back.

Hmm, I'd think that as long you can maintain a similar sidewall height front to rear, then there isn't a problem running 20's up front and 22's out back.

You just don't want your Camaro to end up looking like a cartoon:

Or even worse, like this:

no thats not too bad. the side wall will make up for some of the difference but if not it will still look noce with the nose slanting down more.
id like to get 305 on the back with a 22" rim but it dounds like ill only be getting a 285.

after alot of thinking im going to go with the concept style 22and 21 rims instead of the HRE i wanted to do. that will let me use some of the money towards the supercharger.

it wont look cartoony i dont think. that mustang look like a show car isntead of a driver so its not practical at all but very cool looking.

You should stagger the tires the right way - more tire out back instead of more metal.

I guess my idea of "cool" is much different. In fact I'd say my idea of cool and yours are polar opposite.

275 rears are fine with me, as I'm not into customizations that get too ostentatious. I prefer doing the subtle things.

However thank you all for the funny read...all that work just to get a super wide tire on the rear (Note that my opinion is just mine and not a judgment of anyone elses)

Let me tell you from personal experience that a set of 315s on the back of any muscle car looks incredible
Those are stick axle cars. There's a lot more room inward than with an IRS.

Wide quarters, yes. But if you look at the stock rims, they're virtually flush with the wheel wells. Judging from that, the stock rims are already high offset, can't go much wider out (especially with a drop) and have to clear, at least for the SS cars, thick Brembo 4-piston calipers. Honestly, I think they packaged the rear suspension very tight, like the GTOs, and you're probably not going to be able to get more than the copious 9.5 rears back there.

Hopefully I'm wrong.

The GT, yes, but not the Cobra. 315's on an IRS Cobra are easily done.

But you are exactly right about the GTO - those guys can barely run 275s without getting the infamous "Strut Rub." And that is what I'm worried about - how similar is the rear end of the Camaro, I wonder?

I'm still crossing my fingers, though!

I think someone will come out with wheels that have the correct offset to make us happy
