I run "standard" NT05's on the Z06. They feel like R-compound tires on a road course (I can only personally compare them to Toyo R888's). I bet the NT05R's feel pretty damn good at the drag strip.

I like camaros, corvettes, challengers and even Mustangs.....its starting to get fun for people who like those cars these days....oops..they just happen to all be American (Muscle or race) cars too...ha
Yeah, I'm REALLY loving how all the car mags compare the new Mustang 5.0 to a BMW M3. I know it just kills an M3 owner that his/her car is compared to a lowely Stang. But right now, you just get the most performance for the buck when you go American.

Another data point for you: I put the Pfadt racing springs in the SS and it REALLY improved the handling of the car (in addition to making it look very tough being lowered by over an inch). It settles much quicker during braking and cornering. The car feels much more "vette-like".

When I get the wheels, I'm putting those Pfadt springs in too. Among a few other odds and ends.
