I got the RS package because I wanted the HIDs. It actually cost me $1,670 because I did not want the midnight silver wheels and had to step up to the polished wheels. If it would have been an option to downgrade to the painted wheels, I probably would have done it. To each his own I guess, but I REALLY wanted the HIDs (obviously).

Yes, the lights are the primary. BTW, there are other threads on this one, but so you know if you're considering it...

The standard headlights are NOT configured to be compatible with the HID headlights. You can't just order the HID's @ $600/each from GM - the wiring is completely different. Not impossible to do if you know what you're doing, but not necessarily trivial either. I was considering doing so on my 2LT, as I essentially wanted the RS package without the spoiler. Caved and went with RS anyway.

It's all a personal preference.

Personally I'm ok with the HID but they are not a must for me. Actually I think I like the standard headlights a little better. Again, just a personal prefernce.

The taillights are nearly impossible to tell apart. When we had a Camaro meet last month there was an RS/SS and SS side by side and even knowing there was a diffence in the taillights you can barely see it.

Same goes with the roof ditch molding. On some colors I think the black stripe helps break up the color. I guess if it didn't cost anything I would choose colored but since it does I don't think it's worth the price.

So....For me I'm not going to spend the money on the RS when I order my 2SS. I just don't think it's worth the money to me. I'm going to take the $1,200 and put it into an exhaust and shifter.

Now when you are talking 1LT or 2LT you would be foolish not to spend the $1,200 or $1,300 upgrade. It's worth it for wheels, spoiler, and lights.

Waste of money. Save yourself the $1200 and buy an exhaust instead.

I love the RS package, it was worth it to me, that's the point, it's up to each person.

I ordered my 2SS without the RS package. I'd rather waste my money on something else.

Looking at the chevy website, if you get a 2SS you get 20 inch 'shiny' alloys included. Then if you add RS, they are replaced with the MS alloys, then if you try to add back the original shiny alloys, it costs another ~$400.

What gives?

Stock SS rims are 20's but are called sterling silver finish, Midnight Silver are the RS wheels and the upgrade is Polished. Not a whole lot of difference I think there should of been more but I am happy with the wheels.

HID's at night and its almost like daytime, to each his own. I think halo/HID is cooler looking and much safer for driving.

it might be safer for driving in that the road is more illuminated at night (it might also blind older drivers though :P )but imo its not cooler looking... from what i've seen of the halos, at night the car looks like every other European sedan coming down the street. again, imo, you turn on the fogs with the halogens and the camaro looks real mean rolling down the street

i guess its not that i don't like the halos but just prefer the halogens... especially when you use the fogs intandem
