more scavenging of exhaust gas to provide a free'r flowing exhaust, thus giving more HP...

The new engines today are a little lacking in the beauty dept without a cover, IMO.

I read that the cover has noise insulation under it so we dont here the engine valvetrain noise. I thought the hood did this? It doesnt make sense IMO to cover the engine twice when you want it to run cool.

Glad to see header space under the hood of the 5th gen, hope it stays that way for production.

I thought the insulation was in the outer layer of the intake? Oh yeah, that engine cover looks like a left-over from the Judge Dredd movie. I will be changing it.

Pretty cool find regarding header clearance. I'm always for doing work on my own, but with limited tools and experience, it hasn't always been possible.

they allow for better scavenging of the exhaust gases and are free-er flowing than shorties or mids. they are capable of adding 0-40hp on a given application and normally bump the power curve up a few hundred RPMs

there's even better news than the ease of install.... im just worried that manufacturers will try to price gouge.

yeah, I love doing stuff like this. i had to take a lot of different pictures and reference them to other things to verify the sizes/distances to enusure they will work. I still have to check a few other things but I should have a big suprise to add to this.
