I have no idea how to cut and paste the questions as I answer them from different posts, so please save the comments!
Buying the V-6 fascia was all me. I talked to a lot of people and wasn't getting a very good feeling for just filling the mail slot in. When I met with the guys at Reiter's Metal Craft I told them that I had bought the second fascia and was leaving it to them whether or not we needed to use it. While I wanted to keep the more aggressive SS fascia I had 2 concerns- 1- I did not want to be able to tell the mail slot was ever there. 2- That it was going to last! I told them that if they couldn't make those 2 things happen with the SS fascia then, to just put the LT one on and call it good. These guys do some amazing builds and I felt comfortable going with their recommendation. The feeling was that replacing a 2' piece across the nose would provide a better finished product. All the lines would match perfectly and it was much easier and cleaner to melt and fill 2 straight lines than it would have been to go around the slot opening and get the same results. I'm sure there will be a lot of you that will have a better way it could have been done but I'll tell you what, it turned out perfect! |

Yes still plastic and I meant to say melted. I'm a roofer and when we do the laps on a PVC roof we call it welding the seams, my bad.

You can weld plastic similar to metals... Heat base plastic to melting point, add molten filler material, let cool. Google: "plastic welder" (For anyone that wants to try it, too much heat will warp plastic just like it does metal.)
If you can look at it from 1 foot away and can't tell it was ever there, they did you a top notch job. The photo's look great!

You are correct, it is a hair high on the drivers side, thanks for noticing. Gaps are all perfect, but it does need some adjusting still.

I think that those pictures distorted it a bit, but to each his own. I will try to get some better pics when it stops raining.
