I will give you that it is one of the best damn looking cars ever made, but other than that it really isnt that impressive. Handling on the early cars was no exsistant the newer ones are better, but still not up to par for the price tag. It was a car a dying company made to try and get a new image, and it worked for them. To only get 500 HP out of 8 liters is not engineering. If you are buying a car just for looks, then the viper may be good for you. If you want a car for any other reason get somthing else brother. It doesnt have to be a Camaro, but you could do alot better for the money. For me The most beautifull car ever is the Aston Martin DB9

DB9 MMMMMMMMMM. damn sexy

My buddy owns a Viper GTS identical to the one you posted a picture of. I have always wanted a Viper and I can see your dilemna, but let me give you my opinion.

Ignoring any faults of the Viper the main thing for me in choosing the Camaro over it (or a Vette) is the rear seats. I know they aren't much, but without any rear seats my household will have no 4 seater.

Now, not ignoring the faults of the Viper I can tell you buddies '98 GTS is not really up to par with today's quality standard. Things just don't line up very nice on the body or the interior. The A/C blows....or should I say doesn't blow hard enough, nearly useless.

Based on looks alone I have to say the new Camaro I think edges out both the Viper and the Vette.

So with the Camaro you get a brand new car with a warranty and tons of HP for a nice price. I think it's a no brainer.

No i have to strongly disagree. It's a good looking car but I wouldn't put it next to a 1950 sl gullwing.

I'm more of a Vanquish guy myself. But I will agree, Aston Martin is sex on wheels.

NOT hating on the viper, that is just what happens when you have that much HP going to the rear wheels in such a small car with no traction control :P

On a side note, I would love to have a viper if I was a millionaire.

Calling out the most beautiful car in the world could get serious. Here's my vote:

If you want performance, buy a used C5 or C6 and add forced induction.
I recommend ECS on the east coast. A&A is on the West Coast as well.
You CANNOT beat the C5/C6 for performance and forced induction will add all the power you will ever need to the STOCK engine while leaving room to double the power when you want to forge the engine.

Vipers are a great weekend only car, but the Corvette beats the snake for driveability, cost, and aftermarket support.

If you want "hey! look at me!", nothing is gonna beat the Viper.

just go with the camaro and call it a day. the viper is too hard to get into and out, and and has a big blind spot. besides what other car says "American engineering" like a Chevy.
