does the car actually need the tunnel brace??? What is the prupose pf the tunnel brace?? what happens without it???

I had the same problem and took it to the dealer. Stock Exhaust. They put in a shim after hearing the noise. I didn't even have to take it out of the lot for the SM to hear it. Worked for a month now its banging again so I'll take it back and aske for a more perm adjustment to the position of the muffler assmbly.
