I just sold our 2SS camaro at supplier because it was on the lot for 2 weeks. GM does compensate us 2% for doing supplier deals so in many cases for us its better than an normal deal. If you want to do supplier tell the dealer up front or after its up to you but understand this once you tell the dealer suppler there is not much room to haggle. With many dealers in IMR programs for advertising now we are seeing many invoices that have an invoice price higher than supplier price this would be another reason why some will trun it down. One of the funniest things we have happen in our dealership is when someone comes in to haggle a price we get done and then they say oh by the way I have a supplier discount how much more do you take off? I get to say oh well the supplier price is $XXX over the deal we made I would be happy to raise the price if you like. If anyone comes to our store that gets supplier I pull the invoice I show the customer and we figure the tax tag and rebates up do the deal that easy. Do not expect retail for your trade in because we have do that price on the deal we can not do better than ACV ( actual cash value) on your trade many customers get upset at this. The customers that do supplier all the time know this and are not to upset. The ones that come in and go to one store get sticker price lees trade then come here remember the supplier discount then see $2000 or so difference in what they are shown for the trade and go balistic.
Thanks for the info. So 2% on a $30,099 supplier priced vehicle is $602 back to the dealer from GM. In my example, $1,106 under MSRP then becomes the equivalent of $504 under MSRP if it was a just a regular deal. I'm trying to understand the dealer's position in all this. When I negotiate, I like to be reasonable. I understand the dealer has to make a profit, but I've never paid MSRP or higher for a car and don't intend to for my Camaro. If I have to wait, so be it. Does anyone know of a dealer in MA/ New England area that will honor supplier pricing on an order? Or at least be willing to discount approx. $500 off MSRP? (difference between invoice & MSRP is $1,633, so the dealer is certainly making some money on this)

I used my supplier discount, and it says it expires on 1/25/10. i only ordered the car so i have to wait until it's delivered for the discount to be applied. will they still honor it if the car doesnt arrive before that date? or will i have to get a new authorization number?

You must have some crappy dealers. I got GMS + USAA ($750) + $500 for not taking the 60 day guarantee.

I know this thread is a tad bit old - but thought this the most appropriate place to post this.

I just found out as a credit union member that I qualify for a GM supplier discount.

The car has already been ordered and is on a rail car on its way here. Supposed to arrive at the railyard on Nov 13, and probably at my dealer early next week.

So, my question is: Is it too late to mention to my dealer that I want my Credit Union/GM Supplier discount? I'm assuming probably so.

Thanks,
Chad

IMO - I'd Say No, it's not too late to ask for it (the CU discount dollar amount, is based on the total msrp of your particular vehicle)... plus if you elect to, you should get the $500 to 60 Day OPT OUT.... and I saw this on monday last week, my dealer had a full page list of all other / available discounts and incentives? They would not give me a copy!!

You / WE have to know as much or more about the avail. programs than the salesman & dealers.

Yea the camaro is avaiilabe under supplier pricing. All models. Plus you should get the 500 if u opt out of the return program. That's why I went with Thornton instead of days. They kept telling me that.

She is using it For my pop's Camaro..and since they extended the 60 day opt out, he will be getting that discount too hopefully. I would call BeckyD if your dealer doesn't honor the discounts. That is a lot of pocket change to just hand over because your dealer is being greedy.

ACTUAL DEALER INVOICE & Dealer Invoice are not the same

Anybody on here know how to access the ACTUAL DEALER INVOICE figures...

not the Dealer Invoice they will share with you, but what they actually pay for the car?
