Nice way to put it. My thoughts exactly.

I got a question...

Since FI is out of the question for now, what if we Stroke the LLT, like turn it into a 4.0 Liter.. or better yet a 5.7 liter

run it on 93 high octane ? what would be the results ?

1) I'll believe 13 sec. when I see it
2) being a former Stang guy, I can say that the styling of the now 6 year old 05+ Stangs is formidably OLD

I bought my new Camaro and never looked back.

Hey USAFJeeper,
Wow, really, you don't know what I was saying and you're scared. Are you just pulling my leg and trying to be funny?
I'm a retired USAF MSgt, E7...23 years and a Desert Storm Vet. I have a degree from USM (University of Southern Mississippi).
I was simply trying to dispell the number of posts/myths about the Mustang V6 superiority over the Camaro. The specifications between the two cars are almost identical. I was being a bit sarcastic and trying to get reactions. Jeez, I thought the Air Force only allowed educated people in....were you really in the Air Force or is that just your nic? I'm kidding man.....PEACE!

Hey devildoc,
You are correct...the 3.31:1 gears are a performance upgrade and only on manual transmissions. Mustang owners will pay extra for these gears (Mustang offers 10 models compared to 5 for the Camaro). The standard/automatic V6 Mustang will have 2.73:1 gears. V6 Camaro owners have nothing to fear.

I didnt know what the hell you were tryin to say either.

Anyway, yes it seems that the Ford marketing branch has far outperformed the Ford engineering branch here. Nobody has hit 13s. I'd be surprised if it wasn't faster than the V6 Camaro stock v stock though. ~300 lbs lighter, only 7 HP less (max) and 7ftlbs more tq, seems to go to the Stang in my mind, especially with their upgraded gears.

Of course, this is all talk, and talk is cheap. Only one way to know for sure...

You can get the 3.31s on any 3.7 Mustang, except the convertibles I think. I have a base V6 automatic and the 3.31.

It's still an option though, the 3:27 gears in the camaro are standard. Ford has always had a crazy number of options for their cars.

It's weird, because on the previous 4.0 Mustangs, the 3.31 was standard. That's what my '05 V6 had. I doubt that there will be a ton of 3.31 2011 3.7s out there, I'm thinking if you don't order that option and just buy whatever they have on the lot, you'll likely be stuck with the 2.73.

I think the same could be said about the performance pack. Unless its custom ordered, most setting on the lots will be the regular v6 stang. Its alright if its an option as long as its fairly priced.
