I bought my Wife a 05 Mustang GT which she drove for about a year and then we ended up getting her a 07 Tahoe. I drove the Mustang for about a year before giving it to my Son for his 16th birthday (yea so I could get a Camaro). I am very familiar with the "traction control" on the Mustang. It is great for wet roads, when the tires are cold and for a beginner driver. But the traction control takes the fun factor from a "6" to "0". I would just rather default to fun first and be conserative as needed, I just get tired of turning it off all the time in good conditions. I would rather take my chances at remote chance at hitting the rev limiter when the time is right and not wondering what happened to me 422 HP motor.

Okay, so we all want to be able to disable TC to do burnouts. But doesn't the Active Handling also apply brake to any of the four corners to maintain control and also prevent doing a burnout, and can it be deactivated? 2SS/RS Black/Black w-Cyber Gray stripes/Auto ordered-10/18/08

Are the 20" RS wheels run flats? I could be wrong.
As for speed limiter I agree it should be easy to take of with a tuner. As for traction control, this has saved my life many times in my Magnum. I BELEIVE it should be ON as a default and you should be able to swich it off if you want it, just like on the Magnums.

I watched a video at the Dealer on the new Camaro and do remember them saying they chose not to use the run flat tires on the Camaro but I do not remember them saying it was on any given wheel size.

Darn Thing Has Almost Caused a few accidents...funny tho i turn it off and have ZERO problems.. No Wheel Spin, No loss of traction, ETC.. Maybe Mine Is defective Or OVERLY sensitive.. Hell I Had The Car for about 2 hrs Before I figured out what the ASR (TC)Button was... Still Not Sure What ASR Stands For.. Anti-Spin Reducer?? Sounds Good anyway..lol Dunno Bout The speed limiter tho.. I dont really see a problem with having the t-control on as a default. sure it can be a pain to turn off, if you forget it is on, but come on, you have to turn on your head lights with a button when its dark so that you can see, so whats wrong with pressing a button before you do a burn out.

Are we really seriously mad about TC being on at start up? It's a freaking button, its not like you have to climb under the car to turn it off. It's a button, and for the safety it does provide, its well worth the little button push it takes to turn it off. The only reason i even turn mine of is for showing off (burnouts) or racing.

Guys, forgive my ignorance in this matter, but since both of my Ponitac's are older cars, I have no experience with either Traction or Stability Control.
1. How many modes are we going to have with our Camaros? 2. Can the driver change modes while the vehicle is moving, or must it only be done at a standstill? 3. Are the rules the same for both transmissions offerings? Thanks.... |
