Odds are I could have found what I wanted on the lot somewhere. But I wanted to have the experience of ordering and waiting and knowing no one else had taken a test drive in my car.

when i got mine it was fresh off the truck 6 miles on the odo.
I am obsessively picky too i did wait about 3 or 4 days for mine to arrive

Sorry that I have not responded faster but I became sick last Thursday and then computer crashed. Too sick until today (summer cold) to have home tech computer repair get me up and running again.
Back to the issue of how long does it take to receive a 2011 preorder. My sales rep has been very helpful and very fast to respond to my questions. Perhaps the issue is buying a Canadian built Camaro in Canada - LOL.
Based on all the thread posts, seems like my preorder is taking a little more than average time.
My dealer rep, whom I trust, is doing all he can to move my order along. Here is my current status and would appreciate you feedback based on your experience:

#1100 Preliminary order accepted: 05/19/2010
#1102 Preliminary order added thru Web: 05/19/2010
#2000 Accepted by GM: 07/08/2010
#2500 Preference: 07/08/2010
#3000 Accepted by Production Control: 07/08/2010
I have been informed (07/09/2010) that the Camaro plant will shut down for summer (1-2 weeks) which will delay production. Thought I had read on Camaro5 the plant was not stopping production for the traditional summer break in July but I could be wrong. Aug. 01, 2010, is a Canadian Holiday so no production on that date which is expected. I have been informed I might not get further updates as to my Camaro production update until July 26 or after. Appears I will not recieve my Camaro last week of July or first week of August which upon ordering was my expected delivery date.
Please understand, even though the Camaro is made in Canada, we do not have the same week to week web based production info you have in the states. I am just trying to determine if I placed my order May 18, and as of July 08, I am only at order status #3000 with no production date scheduled. Should I been concerned my preorder is taking more than the average time to process? I do not want to keep bothering my dealer rep if my preorder date and delivery delays are typical. Thanks.

Ordered May 11th and it was delivered July 6th......Took it home July 7th

My dealer has not been helpful (and I don't think honest either) about my delivery. I ordered July 22, got the vin etc etc but I still have no sight of it...apparently the dealer's best response is to shrug his shoulders. HELP!

What about this... What if I find the EXACT car I want at a dealer and it does not have stripes.... Would you rather order it at the factory or have the dealer place the stripes on the car? Is there much of a difference? Bc one way or another I will be getting GFX at the dealer.
