Idea for DECEMBER
Pinellas Park Holiday Night Parade
December 11, 2010
Fee: FREE
I have a lot of wonderful friends (some are like family) that work for the City of Pinellas Park. From the Mayor down we would be welcomed into their city. One of my friends puts on the parade too. We have checked into it and can get our group in for FREE. All it will cost us is a box of bead each from SAMS Club. Pinellas Park has the best beads for a parade too. The kids go home with so many that they need bags.
The theme this year is the 12 days of Christmas. We do not have to decorate our cars, but it may be nice if we all put a big BOW on the top and hold it down with magnets inside the fabric of the bow. Their parade is a long one lasting up to 3 hours from the first to last entry. I would ask that we be close to the front if you all wish.
The parade begins at 6 PM, but lining up starts at 4 PM and all that are entered must be in line by 530.

There is a mandatory meeting prior to the parade, but if you want Jim and I can attend it and post the information to the group. We live in Pinellas County. They only allow 2 people to show up for it due to capacity constraints of the building.

Are your monthly "meetings" usually "outings"? We're just getting our Camaro Club off the ground in the Raleigh area. We have an actual meeting every month (poorly attended, BTW 8-10 people).

Our club is heading over to the NASCAR Hall of Fame on Saturday, August 7th - I'd love to collect 50 Camaro's for this event. I'm going to set up a thread and post to everybody. We might get some folks from VA or TN to join in as well.

We set up for an old-fashioned drive in movie theater this Saturday and I only got five (5) people interested in going?? WTF?? Oh, well, I'm going and it will be fun. The Sorcerer's Apprentice and The A-Team are playing..

In November, we're secured 3-4 WEEKDAYS for an outing at Virginia International Raceway (near Danville). We are sponsored by Hendrick Chevrolet of Cary, NC and there will be both Camaro and Corvette days, but we are looking at an instructor, course time and lunch for approx. $100 p/day p/car (super good deal for those on a tight budget, me). Nice looking road course from their website anyway.

Any insight would be great. We are still working on a logo, but have setup a social group here called, "Triangle Camaro Club" of North Carolina.
