DevKniFal, Thanks for choosing ARH. We're glad to hear that they're performing the way they should. These V6's are no joke and respond to long tubes the way any V8 does. Enjoy your ride.

Nick

Nick,

No problem. I had a lot of people recommend your guys products. The headers are great. My only complaint is that when I really get on the throttle it's a little too high pitched but of course that's because of my catback not the headers. I may look into getting something with a deeper tone. I'll be having the O2 extensions installed probably wednesday so hopefully that solves the CEL.

MRT v2 Is your friend

I hope you find what you are looking for.......I am not sure which catback will work best, SLP Loudmouth? Kooks? I think ARH may have one too.

I would lose horsepower going to the MRT v2. Besides I don't think I could use that one now because I have MBRP which is a bigger system that the stock system that it is designed to bolt up to.

I'm sure the Loudmouth would probably work the thing is that those are basically straight pipes so it will certain lower the tone but it will be deafeningly loud!

I doubt it....

I am just thinking out loud here or thinking out post? I am assuming you got a x-pipe as part of that cat back exhaust. You can always replace the mufflers you have with the V2 axle-back. Or sell the catback and use the money to grab ARH's x-pipe or any x-pipe, and grab some stock SS pipes and fab it all up with the MRT v2.

I don't think you are going to lose HP that way. BTW I think ARH and Kooks have a cat-back. Both sound aggressive and deep on their own, I can just imagine with the LTs.

If you just install the MRT v2 or any other axle back, I still don't think it will be a noticeably loss in power.

Interesting the more I drive it the more it seems to be losing that higher pitch. Maybe it took a little driving for the car's computer to adapt to the headers? The day I had them installed they were deafening even if I only put half throttle. It seems that the volume has come down a bit and the tone is a bit deeper. The day I had them installed I also had some weird behavior when in sport mode. The car would either downshift way too early when coming to a stop or sit at a gear for much longer before shifting up. It almost seemed like the car wasn't sure how to handle the headers and cats. Spent a bunch of time in sport mode today and didn't see that behavior either.

The carbon build up will do it. Drive a few hundred miles before you changing it, I just assumed you had driven the car for a while

I knew the carbon build up would change the exhaust sound slightly over time but I didn't expect it to be this quick or as noticeable. I'm about to post a couple videos showing what I mean.

Update: ok here is what I mean. These videos are both taken with my iPhone 4 with the windows down in sport mode and with traction control and AC off. Maybe I am just crazy but in the first video when the car hits like 2000rpm and higher it is much louder and higher pitched.

Taken a few hours after install

Had the O2 extensions installed today. We'll see if the CEL stays off. Last time I had it cleared it stayed off until the next day. Btw the shop I used called HP Tuner and apparently they told my shop that they will be releasing an update to allow tuning of the V6 "within a couple weeks"

I will believe it when I actually see it. They were saying the same to me in March and then in May.
