I live in Ontario - a front plate requiring province - and of course my new 1LT came with the front plate and holder bolted on.

However, when I test drove the Camaro, it had no front plate holder or bracket. At no time during the deal was I consulted about permanently mounting the bracket on my car. Shoot, I even took a picture of the car with my camera 10 minutes after I signed on the dotted line and there is no front plate holder on it.

I communicated all this to the dealer and told them I want the plate holder removed and if that is going to leave holes in the bumper, I want that taken care of by them at no cost to me.

We'll see how this pans out!

He then elbowed me and told me he was an undercover state trooper. The look on my face must have been priceless, because he looked at me seriously for a moment, then laughed and said front plate laws were stupid anyway and told me no one but a small town local cop would bother me about it anyway. He said as long as I had it displayed like that in the window I should be okay.

Still caught my nerve for a moment nonetheless. He was actually a pretty cool guy, and said he'd have a Camaro too if he didn't have kids. Told me to have fun and not get caught speeding out there.
I bet that was priceless. But yeah I wouldn't necessarily go on what he said. It being in the window is NOT ok in the slightest bit. But it's highly unlikely you'll get pulled over for it. At the same time, if you do don't be surprised if you do get a ticket.

I still have to buy my bracket for mine (going with the automatic one). I still have a month of temp tag driving left and then I get my temp plates and my vanity ones soon after that.

I dont plan on putting my manual on until atleast when i get my plates near when the temps expire and even then i might just wait a bit till like next year if i can (since i dont plan on driving too much during winter).
