[QUOTE=lewylew;4671619]Is anybody making a cat that with hold up to supercharged cars.[/QUOTE

I have JBA Hi Flow cats and so does my buddy that makes 830rwhp for over two years on his GT-500. I have not had a single problem and I'm running a Turbonetics system now and no problems. Do a search on JBA mid-pipes/cats and show me who has posted BLOWN out cats like the rest.

After reading all 17 pages of this thread, I have not seen one thing mentioned about warranty or bringing the car in the dealership for service. I am on the fence as to if I want to remove my cats or not. I know the obvious answer is to remove them, but having a warrantied supercharged kit I am concerned. Unfortunetly I do not have access to a lift making this setup a pain in the ass to change on floor jacks every time bringing the car in for service. Any thoughts or suggestions on this?

Plus the car sounds soooo much better without cats.

Agreed.

And/Or...... Go to a junkyard (or exhaust shop), find some, Hog'em out, put'em on. For visual of course. (opinion only as I would never do this ) (offroad?)

Save the good ones to bolt back on.

Edit: I think any CAT SHELL (body) will work. Regardless of proper sizing (inlet/outlet) when you find it, cutting and welding can make anything work.

Ramps that you can drive up on work very well. They are solid and create a lot of room.

I use them.

I might be old fashioned but if a corporation manufactures, tests, and sells aftermarket automotive products those products should hold up to what their supposed to do.

Doesn't make any sense to me that cats melt, when you need them to pass emissions.

I might be missing something here, but most cars are used for daily drivers, and many vehicles have superchargers and turbos' straight from the automaker. So, putting my ignorance aside, seems like snake oil to me when cats start to melt and the exuse is you have a supercharger on your engine. No?

Personally, if it were me, I wouldn't be destrying my cats, instead I'd be looking for a pro-bono replacement pair.

I know for some the term pay to play comes to mind, but I don't mind paying to play, but I shouldn't be paying and then being told to break the products I just bought so they won't break my engine.
singing a different tune now a days. lol
