see there is a little problem with this... Chevy has no clue how to tune an engine... unless they downtuned the ZL1 so it was not as fast as the Z06... all you need to do is throw a real intake and tune the car and the ZL1 will smoke the GT500...i am the owner of mustang dynamometer and i have tuned both of these cars for companies

The base GT500 comes with a limited slip differential (commonly referred to as a "posi"). The Torsen would not be of any help on the drag strip.

So true. Gotta say though almost every Boss owner I've met is beating on his car. I wonder if the 1LE will appeal to the same kind of abusive owners?

I think that someone who springs for the 1LE option is looking forward to using the added performance, especially since there is nothing in the option there to impress the average onlooker. Function>Form

I don't see how, once Ford had announced that the 2013 GT500 was to pack 650BHP everyone knew it would be king in a line. Yet people still purchased ZL1 Camaro's, which goes to show that people who were purchasing the ZL1 Camaro were looking for something else then what the GT500 is.
Sure you can try to argue that this is the classic use of these cars, lined up at the stop light. However there are large amounts of car enthusiast in America who look forward to driving in corners or mountain roads (like me). I don't even watch drag racing, my uncle (RIP) was a huge fan of drag racing and he did it when he was younger. He would watch the NHRA drag racing when it was in town, that was his thing however for me it was road racing. I got super hooked on watching the Speed World Challenge series years ago (now they dropped the Speed part). I remember when the Real Time racing acura NSX was competing with the AWD Audis and when Cadillac came in and kicked everyones ass. I remember when they had to limit the CTS V to 7,000rpms........ |

Can't vouch for anyone else, but ..uh...NO. Most people buy these cars to USE them, a few possibly will be treated like you say, but not the majority by a long shot.

I would agree, since there is no added horsepower with the 1LE there is no reason for anyone other then those who would use the 1LE to opt for it.

Na, not at all. I live in a town of 5000 people in the middle of no where Canada. There isn't a GT500 of any year within 150km in any direction from me. The only competition for me around here is some ones fixed up 86 half ton....lol.

I love speed and style, regardless of the make. The fact that both of these have it make me wish I had room in my wallet for both of these! #dreamgarage
