11:43 railcar left Battle Mountain, Nv, heading for Milpitas. Apparently they changed the direction from South to West after all. The UP system was down so I have no ETA. Yesterday, it was going to go to Industry, then Milpitas. It's too far west to go that way now.

Having personally loaded and unloaded cars from railroad cars, let me be the first to say... IT SUCKS EGGS doing that job! It is slow, tedious, hot, back and knee breaking work. My hat is off to the guys doing the work. I am surprised the cars aren't all bashed up from that process. Been there done that. NO THANK YOU!!!

Check this out guys, dealer calls me today, says he has the invoice, and I tell him to email me the numbers. This is the second guy I'm dealing with becasue the guy I ordered the car from, no longer works there. These are the numbers I worked out with the 1st guy, the PO I signed didnt have 350 discount on it, when I pointed that out,the guy verbally agreed to honor the $350 under invoice pricing when the car comes in.


34,565.21 Internet Invoice price - quote giving by junior below, confirmed on PO

+3,611.23 Tax, license, reg fee, doc fee, and all the additional fees

38, 176.44 Out the door price before discount

- 350 Discount negotiated

37,826.44 Total after discount

+ 414 herritage grill w/ installation

$38, 240.44 final price

-$1000.00 Deposit

$37,240.44 Remaining Balence



Are these numbers legit for Cental Valley, California?

So the guy sends me this !!!!

Doc Fee 55.00
CA tire fee 7.00
DMV/Reg 489.00
Sales Tax 3060.23 (at 8.75% for Merced Co)

Sub total $38,944.59
deposit -1000.00

Total $37,944.59 (balance to finance)


Tried to hike the price like $700, I called the guy and layed into him because these kind of negotiating tactics piss me off. I wouldnt work with these guys again ot recomend this dealership to people. So I emailed the numbers that were worked with the first guy to him and told him I would probaly start dealing with the manager, becasue my patience is running out. Am I being irrational, or was that a total price gouge?

Well, it could be just a mistake, but...after all the dealers I've talked to in the last two years, I'd bet it's not a mistake. They're just hoping you wouldn't notice, or are too excited to care. And, if they didn't sign anything indicating the final price, they aren't obligated to sell you the car for that price. Although, as bad as sales are in CA right now, I can't imagine they'd do that. That being said, this is my fourth order, and I still don't have a car...

That is not a bad price considering California. I live in So Cal and my MSRP was 40,935. It is currently $38,619 + tax and lic. Considering the markup last year it looks like you are in the ballpark. The dealers are generally working on real close margins if they are moving a lot of cars.
