Hey all 5th Gen's in the Des Moines area, I'm planning on getting to the fairgrounds early, to try to save some spots on the west end from the front of the Race arena, across from the Varied Industries building (North side of the main drag). Hope to see all the old crowd from last time.

Hey guys, I won't be out to the grounds tonight. I got some damage on my rear bumper this past weekend and not sure if I want to take it to a show. I will not have it fixed before this weekend either so not sure how long I will stick around for the show in CR.

So my question is, if your car was slightly damaged would you take it to a car show? See picture.... what do you think? I mean, a car show isn't for having a perfect car is it more about meeting fellow enthusiasts right?

Just put some black duct tape over it. More than likely you will be backing your car into your space and nobody will be looking at the backend. Plus with dark tape it looks like it could blend in. And like you said, its to meet other Camaro5 and Gen5 members. However, I can understand why you wouldn't want to show your car.

Just clarifying where Theisens is. I found a Theisens in Cedar Rapids in Yellow Pages but map quest doesn't know there is a Theisens in Cedar Rapids. Just want to make sure we go to the right place since we will be coming from DSM. Here is what I found at yellow pages:

No Theisen's is on either William's or Wiley; more of the SW side. The one you put is over near Marion.

Yeah I wasn't very happy about it, but it was completely my fault so I have nothing to complain about other than my own judgement. I will still come to the show as you guys have suggested as I would like to get to know more of you. I will just make sure I put up a chair in the right place. It will be fixed soon enough anyway. Not a big deal, I guess in a way this is one of the reasons I didn't get an SS as I knew I would be putting a lot of miles on it and I knew that from regular wear and tear as well as the unforeseen; the car would not remain pristine. I love my car and I really hate to see her banged up but soon it will only be a memory. See you all Saturday and thanks for the needed direction.

Update. I will make it for the cruise in and photo op for the Cam5 group at the Kmart show but I will need to leave shortly after. My grandmother has slipped into coma after fighting cancer for awhile. Things aren't looking great so I will not have much time to stick around and chat. I hope most of you can make the Oct. 22nd show here in Des Moines. later.
