i never said my car wasnt modded ,
i have a lot on bushings and swaybars (no power added)
the only power adders are a ported stock intake ,kooks headers ,cai , a slp cat back,and a torque converter.the tune was by nick willams .

the point is that i have way less money in a new gto + the mods .
and all i here is how it wont touch the new car or doesnt look like the old car .

if you look real close ,the new camaro is more holden than chevy.

well we didnt start a thread on the gto site about how we would do against the new camaro .
there is actualy a race being put together ,for all gm irs cars .here on the east coast .

there is not a lot of hate from us for the camaro,untill you come after the car that we chose to drive .

the camaro is a very good looking car ,the gto is a better riding car .
i dont dislike the camaro i may even end up with one .
but why make a blanket statment ?

my car is fast , not the fastest ,and i go the extra mile in doing stuff myself.

is this war still going? this race stock for stock is going to be who ever knows how to lauch there car better. I know for a fact the a stock GTO wheel hops so bad that the frickin windshield washer starts to drip on the windshield, and i own a 2ss M6 and to tell you the truth it does launch ok but it too wheel hops with the stock tires just not as bad. But like all other posts in this thread this is just my opinion.

just to clear up my last post i'm not saying either is faster stock, i'm saying its who ever has more seat time in their STOCK car.............But who keeps their car stock in the first place?

You could of and I wouldn't know. I don't troll on vehicle specific sites dedicated to cars I don't own. But I know for a fact there are a bunch of Camaro bashing threads on GTO sites. You may not be one of "those" GTO owners, but there are a lot out there.

Stock for stock in a drag race the Camaro will win, they're both about the same weight and the Camaro has more power and torque so yes the Camaro has it, but like many have said you can modify any car to beat any car, a reason i HATE ricers cause even if you beat them they go "well let me do this this and this to it and we'll see who wins" its like "yeah, sure, but you didnt do that that and that and you didnt win, plus if you did then I could also do that that and that to my car and still be just as much better than you" So really in my oppinion only stock for stock counts cause even if you do something to make your car faster the other guy can do the same thing and depending on which car started out better the car that was better at stock will always be that much better

Not saying the GTO is a bad car its an awsome performance car, but racing a Camaro it comes up just a little short, also i wouldnt be surprised if a 2002 WS6 could take one cause those T/As are waayy lighter and still have gobs of power even with the LS1...really just comes down to your personal prefference, would you rather spend the extra money and get the little bit of extra performance and style? Or save a good 10 grand or so and take the one that is really close but sacrifices a little performance for a better price

the camaro is about 200lb more ,and there auto version is the same power.
then the gto has a better gear ratio. maybe not in first gear but all the rest . more gear in first is just about worthless at these power levels .

more power is not always a good thing.more power is only as good as being able to put it to the ground .my car only make 370rwhp est.
i have raced several supercharged cars and won with 100 less hp.
