Spotted a IBM on White Granite Drive in Oakton VA as I pulled out of my work parking lot. I waved, even honked the horn, still don't think he saw me, probably jammin to some tunes. Tried to catch up but he went north on 123 while I went south. Still cool to see others out there!

So I spoke with Susan Hobbs at Colonial today.. she works in the service department. I had gotton ahold of them in regards to the paint chips in my rear quarter panels... when she found out I was going to the meet on Sunday she made sure I could get my baby blue in before hand to buff out the chips!

Yuk. My ties are behind the plate using the existing mounting holes. Can't see them unless you look behind the grill.

I got two pieces of aluminum angle from Lowes and hooked them up to the plate that came with the car. Here's a photo.. If you want more details I'll put it all together:

I forgot to add this: I saw an IOM with black stripes headed eastbound on I66 out past Haymart, VA... Today around 4PM

I think that is pretty slick. I'm unsure how the plastic ties would work, since I think there would be some looseness and possible rubbing - could be wrong. What you did looks solid and leaves the front end unmodified. I went ahead a got the swift hideaway and I'll see how it goes. I'm looking forward to being pulled over and seeing the look of the officer's face when I tell him he must be mistaken cause of course I have a front plate; it's the law.

If the swift hideaway doesn't work for some reason I will take your approach.

I live in Eldersburg and work in Columbia. I haven't spotted anybody. I'm anxiously waiting, since it's one thing to be in the car, but I'd like to see what it looks like on the road from the outside.

I bought a very nice no-drill mount from here: http://******.com/products_chev.html. He also has some threads on here about the mount. I didn't want to give a cop any more of a reason to pull me over than the fact that I have a bright red super-fast car. I know a lot of people have gone with zip ties. I just didn't feel like taking any chances of the ties breaking and scratching the paint. Paying ~$100 for a nice piece on my $35k car seemed like a no brainer. Here's a picture of it mounted:

BTW, I see a Black SS in Stephens City, VA all the time. There is also an IOM one that I have seen at the 37-81 interchange on the south side of Winchester.

I saw a red 2ss w/silver/white stripes come into the parking lot at work today. They parked outside old country buffet in the Smoketown Plaza Shopping Center in Woodbridge Va off Prince William Parkway.
