I think they had originally made a mistake with the pricing.

It looks like they created 2 prices for the RS package instead of 3. If you ordered an LT, the RS option will cost you $1,995. If you ordered an SS package, the RS option will cost you $1,670.

They have also clarified the automatic transmission package by reducing the price for anyone buying a 2SS. The MXO option for the LS/1LT/1SS is $1,180 and the MX0 option for the 2LT and 2SS is $1,435.

It was a GM Canada document, should be every dealer then.
As for the license plate mount, it says it's included for vehicles shipped to BC, MB, NB, NL, NT, NS, NU, and ON(Optional for vehicles shipped to AB, PE, QG, SK, and YT) so yes, I believe it's a no charge for those that require it.
There is small print that says "Prices and Specifications Subject to Change Without Notice".
I really wish I had a scanner here, but your dealer can print you off a copy.
I probably won't be checking the internet for the next 5 days(Vegas baby!!!) so any questions directed towards me will go unanswered until then. I'm sure Hylton can clear up the mess I just made.

every dealer on canada now has access to most of the pricing for the camaro; still no pricing on the LPO accessories though. what you see posted above from crazz28 is correct.
as stated as well, 'prices and specifications subject to change without notice' is printed at the bottem of each of the vehicle ordering guide pages. and as we have all experienced in this business...that statement cannot be any more true. expect there to be at least a half dozen changes throughout the entire model year of price 'adjustments'.

at this point (not that it really effects anyone on this thread) be thankful that it's just a few small price changes...in the new 2009 Silverado Hybrid brochures, the standard engine is the 5.3L V8 with Hybrid propulsion - it's been changed to the 6.0L V8 with Hybrid propulsion!!! now that's a big 'adjustment'.

For anyone willing to pay a couple extra bucks for a faster, better handling car, the Camaro is the obvious winner. If your finances don't allow the Camaro, the mustang is the choice for sure. Challenger appeals to Dodge fanatics. The hemi isn't powerful enough and the car is too big and heavy.

I've heard the estimates are 150k for the Mustang, 100k for the Camaro, and 50k for the Challenger. All those numbers are old so with auto sales down they should be substantially lower.

Approximately 4000 Ford dealers each get only a couple of GT500s allocated to them per year. To get another GT500, a dealer has to take several SUVs or trucks into his inventory. And if you've seen one of the dealers with several GT500s in stock, they probably paid some rural Ford dealers for their allocations. When they were selling for $20K over MSRP, it was common for the big city dealers and major internet sellers to pay $10K to a small rural dealer for his GT500 allocation. This is one reason that you still see big markups on GT500s at some dealerships even in these tough economic times. By buying other dealer's allocations, some dealers have too much money into them already.

Only SVT dealers in Canada got the GT500s. They were all given 15 each because there is only 27 dealers across the great white north. Even with 15 cars the dealers were still sticking it to buyers.I had a huge battle getting mine after they changed the deal when it came to order. The car is great but its the last Ford I will ever buy.

I read through about half and don't see any one mentioning the exchange rate.

The MSRP for a 2SS is $33,430 US Dollars which is $41,318.70 Canadian.

I guess I don't see how that is a mark up

Cdn vehicle pricing has never been solely based on exchange rate. It conveniently lines up this way at the moment, but something tells me if the Camaro pricing was released a few months back, it would not have been priced the same in Canada and US, even though the Cdn Dollar was at parity to the greenback. Although that would have been nice...

According to an article I read Canadians imported 60,000 cars in Q3 2008 from the US. The exchange rate is not the only factor. There are huge discrepancies between these markets. Just look around at luxury cars.

Yeah, I have bought a motorcycle from Guelph, Ont back in 2000 because it was cheaper due to the exchange rate. I also sell motorcycle aftermarket turnsignals for a company in Canada and always paid attention to the exchange rate and adjusted my prices accordingly. I didn't realize cars didn't pay attention to this exchange rate when pricing their vehicles.

Whats the taxes combined in Quebec. I just found out that i wont need to cancel the rs package because my parents will most likely be paying cash, i wonder if i can cut some of the money off since i would be doing that. My uncle told me to order the car in Montreal and keep it with the quebec plate and he would do the buisness insurance thing for me, apparently it would be a lot cheaper, and i think he might pay the difference to get me the 2ss since he is against the v6, is there any laws against me having a quebec car and plate, but driiving in Ontario day after day?i wouldnt have to suffer with the front plate either.
