ANY truth in any of this? Just don't want to wait for something that is never coming!!
Even if that engine was going to be put in the camaro it will only make sense if it came up a little shy of the price for a Cadillac CTS-V. and 45- 50 grand isn't close enough try 55- 65 grand.

IF the Z28 does come, which depends on their cash flow and the 5th gens success, I would expect it to be within $3K-$5K of the GT500.

Nobody knows how certain it is that its coming out

If it does, it won't be for a couple years

It likely won't have the engine from the ZR1, if it does there isn't a chance it will be under $50 000. More likely is the less expensive LSA from the CTS-V @556 hp. Even then, $50 000 should be close to what it would cost. It won't be less expensive than the GT500.

This is from the "Missing RPO" thread:

My thanks to those who have PM'd. And thanks, as well, to those who have "spoken", here. Let me assure you this is NOT idle chatter or mindless speculation. There ARE folks paying attention to this...

LS7?

And/Or...

LS9/LSA?

The tallying continues...

This from the "2010 COPO Camaro...Want one?" Thread...

And there IS "interest" from some significant people within the industry...

Is there "significant interest" among money-$pending buyers?

To clarify, neither is referring to a Z28...from GM...

And neither is referring to a GM "build"...

BUT...they DO refer to a "Dealer-available" Camaro...

There ARE "other avenues"...

This thread has been around for so long, and so many others have been merged into it, I apologize if this information is a repost, but I thought it'd be cool to add:

http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/cadill...no-sheets.html

"Ok here goes just the first stage. The car bone stock is making 429.47 hp and 423.46 to the wheels. I made 5 pulls and they all matched that within 1 hp so i know it is accurate.

Then i removed the Boost controller on the front and made it straight to vacume so the engine could not pull boost. "Usually it adds free hp" SUPRISINGLY IT LOST HP! I was shocked. It made some kr when i did that so on the STOCK program it pulled 4 degrees of timing and then brought the numbers down about 4hp. and 4 torque.. So so much for free horsepower.

Using EFILive software with Virtual Ve tables and the Serial wideband input and a custom map for wot fueling.
I ran several other pulls to set up the final mail order tune and the numbers are this.. Maxed out safe tune with NO OTHER CHANGES is 478 horsepower and 478 ft pounds of torque to the wheels. That is a massive Gain! I ran 3 pulls each right after each other and waited 40 minutes for the last and they are all within .6 hp of each run and torque is mirrored... So the Gains are exact....

I then set up different tunes for different levels if the custom wants. from stock to all the way to max. Here is the dyno sheet showing values. including the one that says run 94 was the one with the 4degree of knock you can see where it pulled hp and torque.

Gas mileage is as follows. in 200 miles, i was at 16 mpg on the highway. Sometimes 17 at 70mph.. window sticker shows 18.... Well WITH the performance tune on ANY level, i have fixed thier flaws and am now AT LEAST 24mpg. If i drive easy, like i did on the way home i averaged 27.4 mpg for 68 miles straight on the highway...

So to sum this all up... $320 mail order tune gets you at least::

A horsepower gain of 36 To the wheels.
A torque gain of 55.
A GAS MILEAGE and drivability increase of 7, yes 7 mpg on the highway..
AND YOU KEEP YOUR STOCK ECM!

The gas increase has been verified and i also have High def video for 42 miles showing the exact average showing that value on the dtc for those that want to go thru the 46 minute vid.."

That was on a CTS-V, but I figured this would get us into the ball park and certainly makes me more interested and hope more this model makes it to market with this engine.

Ah thanks for clarifying that last bit, I read the entire thing and was like "wait a sec, the camaro doesnt have boost haha"

Easily imaginable for the camaro... I know just from shopping loose parts on GMPP i can get the car to 500hp with about $1500 dropped into the car.

Using the same power per dollar as the SS the Z28 should come in at about $40k
