By the way, here is an excellent video on heat management. I learned so much this year with the oil cooler projects and supercharging Miata, and there seems to be quite a bit more to learn:

Ive been running a harness bar, 6 point harness and Recaro for the last two years. It holds me in place much like a race setup. Couple of things Ive noticed is when you start to knock out some serious G... like 1.3 or more the seat cusions will have some give and you'll start sucking down into the seat. leaves you feeling slightly loose but I just cinch them down on the next straight and all is good. My shoulders, the bar and the holes in the seat are all the same height, so I run the harness through the seat. If your shoulders are above the holes you'll have some figuring out to do.

I ordered the harness and will try to get the harness bar/plates tonight. Not that I'm in a hurry, considering my diff is still at the shop : ) I sincerely hope I can try these all at the track before the season comes to an end. I couldn't even try the MPSC2 tires at the track, yet! I also bought two more sets of Trofeo Rs for $1100 shipped; my garage now smells like tire. I will need to go through all these tires next season, since the rubber will start degrading, too. I'm actually thinking about leaving a small heater by the tires in the garage at defrost setting, not that it ever gets too cold in here.

If I didn't live on the other side of the state I would come help with that diff. You know I could help you out with those tires. We just need to meet up at one of the tracks sometime.

The BK bar is very high quality, you'll like it. I did my sub belts with the rear seat bolts because I'm cheap, worked fine. Have to pull the seats to connect the inner BK lap belt hardware but it's excellent quality. An afternoon and a couple beers is all you need for the initial install. Afterwards you can pop it out in 5 minutes, 10 if you don't want to leave the upright bar that connects to the lower belt mounting point. It can rest against the side of the car, accept passengers, and be safe.

This bar is actually made custom by EarlyApex, but it follows B.K.'s design. Its bottom arms look to be connecting to the harness plate, so it might even be easier to remove. I was worried about the height of the harness bar; it looks a bit short to me. It is very hard to determine how it will work out, and he said it makes about 10 degrees with the stock SS seats (which is good for HANS), so I decided to give it a shot.

I am actually very excited about this. He is 3 hours driving away from me, and we'll meet up 40 minutes North of him whenever he has time (PM'ed him for today, but didn't get any response yet).

I also ordered the Profi II harnesses, so I'll see how things work out with the Recaro seats real soon; looking forward to it!

Yeah, it would be great if we lived a little bit closer

I'll be at the ORP on Saturday; come be my guest! It's very cheap, $150 for the first time guests of the club.

I hope I didn't damage any seals. The Z/28 cooler kit didn't come with the diff lid gasket (eve though it's supposed to). I ordered one, and I'm waiting for it right now to get it finished at the diff shop. Between the missing gasket and the damaged caliper, the car won't make it to the weekend, so I'll be attending with my 2500 lbs, now-265 whp Miata : )))

Received all the parts I need. If the differential shops finishes up my pumpkin tomorrow, I should have the car ready for duty by mid-week.

The shop said they will finish working on my car's pumpkin by Wednesday. I just hope I can find an event to try it out. With the trailer sold, it will be hard to drive to the tracks farther away.

Himm, I'm wondering if these 'hairline' cracks are a bit more than a hairline. When I touch them, my nail can feel the cracks, but is not caught by them. So what's the standard? Are we supposed to replace it when we can feel it with the nail, or when the nail is 'caught'? It has so much life left otherwise : (

I removed the transmission cooler lines, but did not start installing new ones for the differential cooler since I want to install the Tick clutch bleeder line first. Here's hoping I don't screw it up!

after reading a few threads, the answer isn't clear. Some of the cracks are merely superficial and are of no concern. My ZL1 had cracks after a 2 day event and never caused any issues. I put a new set of rotors on the car and they had cracks after another event. So, it is a judgement call and GM says "superficial heat cracks are no reason to replace the rotor" according to a post in the first link above.
