BullF-16 nice pics. I'm almost thinking I should do silver calipers on my black SS now.

Oh and nice to see you sporting the AR15.com sticker.

Tyler, got the kit in this morning even before i woke up!!!! thanks for the awesome customer service.

Took the car out on the back Texas farm roads and did 10 stops from 30-40 mph fairly aggressively, then about 4 stops from 45-50 very aggressively then just for good measure 2 more from 60mph. Then drove it 15 miles to the base without touching the brakes at highway speeds.

This is a great upgrade!!!!

Wow, pretty good eyes to pick out the tiny BFLs on my side windows. I have a 3 incher on the back window also

Thanks....guns are one of my other obsessions. Matter of fact, just about to go out to my reloading shack and load up another few hundred .300blkout 125 gr TNT HPs. My ammo fort is becoming an ammo mansion

Heres a pic of the calipers with the wheel on. Silver looks sweet with a black car imho. Although, hopefully they will be gold in color in a while.....

I'm a fellow gun guy. I need to reload a bunch too. I have about 3500 rounds of brass that needs to get rolled but the components are still too expensive. Good thing I'm stocked to logical levels already. The empty brass once filled will take me to illogical levels. Then on to ridiculous levels then on to ludicrous... lol

Oh and make sure to get some pics when they turn gold...

Bull one other thing. The logo's that are on the calipers how hard do you think it would be to get them off and keep the paint underneath in good shape.

I have in my head to leave them silver but just change the logo. I'd like something that says 1LE in the ZL1 font but at the very least put Brembo stickers on them.

Right on! Good to hear! You will definitely have to update us after your first track day on them!

Try a razor first. One of the below nib files might work too. The yellow coating on mine was rather thick so you have some leeway. It was thin on edges though so go slow and don't get excited. Then clean them up with standard rubbing compound. Just be sure to use some alcohol to remove compound or polishing residue before the stickers go on.

Just drive your SS/V or 1LE/V or ZL1/V :-)

Bull,

I took a trip to Detroit and have been buried with paperwork since. I have three months of work to do in a week to ten days. It sounds as though you have everything under control.

Synner, I have a couple of those nib gimmicks. I'll take a look when I get my hands on a set but that sounds like a plan.

I figured as much. Take care of business, i got it all figured out. I will run the XR1/XR3 combo front/rear even though i found some conflicting info about brake bias and the XR2 rear pads were better. Im not worried about it. I would not even notice a difference since i have never even been on a road course as of yet.

I am ready to get this pig out to ECR and run it at a track day to see what it can do. Hoping for close to 2:00 min lap times for the first 5 laps or so. After that i think i will be approaching the limit on oil temps.

Okay so since this is the "Master CTS-V/ZL1 Brake swap thread" Does anyone know if the CTS-V brakes are the same between the 3 models? Caddy makes a CTS-V Coupe, Sedan, and Wagon. I'm getting a smoking deal on a complete Wagon set up but I'm not sure if they are the same.

They will need to be painted and rebuilt. I'm thinking I will do the Racing Brake piston kits but I'm not 100% sold on the roughly $800 for the kits to do all 4 calipers. I might wuss out and do just the Racing Brake seal kits. I'll sell the Caddy rotors and get the ZL1 fronts and powder coat the hats on my stock rear rotors. Then I'll sell my 1LE red calipers to someone who is into that.

So to repeat my initial question will the Wagon Brakes work? If not I'm moving on to the next plan.

If I remember correctly they are all the same. Three different sets of brakes would slow assembly down way too much! The parts department could have told you what you needed to know?
