Royal Purple is what he uses. What he said was, if you want to void the warranty don't use RP. Take it to the dealer and use their GM brand. Have it ALL documented. He related a recent story of a gent who bought a new Chevy truck for his gardening business. He put on a flowmaster exhaust system, the engine blew and because of the exhaust system changeout the dealer wouldnt warranty the engine. Warranty appears to be a very straight forward thing in these financially strapped times for dealers and manufacturers.

Oh ok I understand. I haven't had to get anything worked on under warranty but I visited a few dealers for sh!ts and giggles and they actually said they wouldn't fix anything in my trans under warranty due to the mods but they would do an oil change for free with full synthetic. I put redline in myself though.

I've noticed this in my car as well. Not very often, but their has definitely been a few times where I've been frustrated thinking wtf . I've only noticed it at high rpm shifts (6,000 or higher) from 1 to 2 along with that horrible grinding sound. I've had it also pop outta gear into nuetral one time. 13,xxx miles on the car. I'm hoping it's nothing to serious, but if it continues in spring once i pull my car back out i may have to have it checked out.

I said I understand because it is really regularly irregular. The fluid was supposedly good. I am going to inspect it closer tomorrow when I have time. I will be doing my own transmission oil assay and reporting the results here and to the dealer. The Service Writer was kind enough to give me a paper explaining the function of the Skip Shift operation. When I explained to them I understood and that I drive a stick everyday, 120 miles a day plus heavy equipment, they got a clue...it ain't me. I have scanned the document they gave me because I haven't seen this one before (PDF Attached Below). It is a good reference directly from GM.

So bottom line...I wait until an official TSB comes out. In the meantime...drive em if you got em! WARRANTY!
Your description is verbatim, for my complaint to the dealership that had my Camaro. But mine locked up, and my guibo exploded damaging everything in close proximity to the driveshaft.

They filled in "Customer states transmission not pulling." Most of GM's dealerships aren't gonna be able to handle the repair. It's beyond the scope of their abilities. Thus the contiued delays....

Add me to this list. Dealership said they wanted something to break / be wrong. Told me to come back in when it is worse.

New clutch installed, clutch is great but shifting into 3rd. still an issue. Seems to be shifting in any gear at a fairly high RPM locks up.

My VIN is below 35,000. Got my car in Aug09. Just past 30,000 miles no transmission issues. Still shift fine, no issues.

Be happy.
My plan is to rebuild tranny anyway to a real HP version, so for now I'll just force it into gear.

Can you post link? I'd love to read about your experiences and what you've tried.
I've got new clutch, separate reservoir, clutch fluid is spotless clean.

Has anyone gotten any results by simply draining and re-filling with stock fluid? I don't want to void my transmission warranty. I'm also thinking that some of this notchiness could be due to the fact the transmission has broken in and there are metal particles coursing through the gears.

Same here. Still have to force shifts. While on BMW or Mercedes I can shift simply by pushing on the knob with my thumb.
Basically, have to grip the shifter on the SS to force it into gear.

Yeah... this is a joke.

i got a Bushism from the dealer:

if we fix it. and, it doesn't fix it. then... that's just proof we didn't need to fix it.

this is not normal. or, characteristic. but, oddly... GM makes it seem as though it is. good-God, look at the repitition here!
