I've got a genius idea for my own smoke test machine. I'll post some a parts list/DIY thread. Should be effective and cheap.

There is no such thing as alone time on an oil rig...

Do you know any local firefighters.

We had a smoke generator (vegetable oil) when I was in the fire service that produced a huge amount of smoke... Run it through a small hose and there you go...

I don't know any personally.

At one point I disconnected ALL vacuum hoses and ONLY had the intake hooked up. I blocked ALL of them completely off. No brake booster, no EVAP, no PCV, No nothing. Just the intake going into the Maggie and that's it.

Still had the miss.

None that I remember. There is no way the car will notice the brake booster and PCV because there is little to no flow while it sits. PCV is emissions. You can litteraly unhook it and let the crank case vent to the ground if you wanted.

And if the EVAP isn't open for canister release then it wouldn't notice that either because there is no flow then either.

At least all in theory.

Yeah that makes sense, but still seems weird. I've for a feeling that your tune has turned off all sorts of things that should be active.

Got my smoke tester built tonight, but wifey is sick, so I'll post video, build thread tomorrow. And hopefully find my leak.

Luckily I've learned so much about fule trim that I will be able to tell right away if its fixed or not. Maybe I'm not stuck on carbuerators.

then again... for a guy who has to have his car shift for him, 7 forward gears might be a little much to handle - let alone 8!
