Bumped ahead or back? If its bumped back I am going to cancel and buy a vette.

I would ask that you all go look at the history of the new 370Z. When did you know it was coming? Who at Nissan gave you any dates? My recollection was it showed up in the spy photos about 6 months ago WITH camo AND NO COMMENTS from ZBODFATHER. Oh yeah, that's right. There is no insider called ZBODFATHER. And now the most recent issues of the car mags have full reviews, it will be at the NAIAS and oh yes you can go buy one now. No build up, no inclusion of the enthusiasts. I worked at Nissan for a bit. They and the other Japanese OEMs would never do what you guys have been allowed to see and hear about for the past few years of Camaro development.

Your enthusiasm and passion are your own worst enemy here. GM has included you in many key steps of Camaro development, maybe more than any car in history. And when a date is missed by a few weeks SOME of you guys go off on rants against GM, it's dealers and leadership.

Puh leeeeze.
I see things still havent settled down. But for now, I will totally subscribe to and rely on this quote, as it brought up many points I surpressed in an earlier rant I almost let loose (your welcome).

Thanks, Number3.

I was being conservatively optimistic, and I interpreted that post differently. Either way, 30%, 45%, 60%, it won't be enough to build all the SS's in a month and it won't take till October.

Lets just say, as of a month ago Canadian cars weren't supposed to go into production until about mid march. There is a chance that nothing has changed for Canadians. Or we could still be delayed by a month, relative to the US. We don't know. Don't cancel you're order until you know more.

How would you interpret it? He replied "Yes" so I kinda took at it's face value...

It can be expected, but not guaranteed. And while going all the way up to 80% SS production would seem like it helps, it will still take months to build all the pre-ordered SS's.

Am I reading that right, people who've preordered won't get theirs until October? If that's true, I think most people expected to get their car a month after production, latest being June. That's what I was expecting. I haven't even ordered yet! But I want a 2LT in Silver...anyone think I might be lucky and get mine sooner than October?

aaaaa... nope

i got the same prob 2lt , silver , which is precisely what they deliver first as show cars, but those won't be sold.
if you order now at a dealer with open quota - check around for info, we may be lucky enough to build ours soon after .
as i want rs pack, bigger wheels etc. but the body is the same it may be built right after those.
if they decide there to many v8 to do, then its's october latest for everyone and probably more for you as being order 11000 or something.

Makes more sense for us snow belters to wait until 2010 if only to get the HUD and 3:73.
say ...hud and 3:73 , what did i miss neighbour ? i used to live in toronto.

THE CRAP HIT THE FAN late Friday afternoon. Everyone who could deal with this will be back at work Monday at the earliest. Why would anyone who really had a car on order go in and cancel before GM OR the selling dealer have a chance to get out the real information.

Sounds like a school yard with kids taking their marbles home.!!!

Take a deep breath... slow down (and some should take a Midol!)

If anyone should be upset with anyone it would be WITH the dealers who let a customer put down money and let them think their car would show up 3 or 4 weeks after SORP. That was never going to happen. I have waited up to 5 months to get a Factory Ordered Silverado.

I have read all 29 pages and most posts on here since mid August that actually have information rather than speculation and the only thing that changed for everyone is the 30 day delay in start up. THAT is the only thing GM has altered since Oct 13th.

You guys do not realize how unique this opportunity is and a few sad apples are going to ruin the whole barrel.

10 20 30 CARS cancelled out of frustration will not impact GM at all.

The only loser will be you.

Hylton this is exactly what I was thinking. It did not seem that unrealistic to think that if production started in Feb that a 90 day window should be more than enough time to get caught up with the pre-orders. Silly me, I assumed that a paying customer (sold product) would take priority over general inventory. I also don't believe that their is a single person to our sunny south that would lay out 50-60K for a car and be happy to bring it home and stick it in their garage for 6-7 months unless it is one hell of a drive home from the dealership.
I have not given up the faith either, but I will wait until spring 2010 if told that September/October 2009 is my delivery date and if the price goes up further by doing so...then as much as I really wanted a Camaro...it just won't be happening.

^ Getting the car and being able to drive it during the summer/fall is worth paying MSRP for and sacrificing not having as many options available. When you start to think of the benefits of waiting until next season (HUD, 3:73, white, more stripe combos, 'vert, less than MSRP, maybe other goodies), it's hard to make a case for buying the car now, especially if there is a 60% chance you will get the car late summer/fall.

All good points...plus who knows...might we see an LS7 version or Z-28/ZL1 and if I wait till spring 2010 I'll have that much more money to play with, the kitty goes up by $1100 a month.

Not to start any rumors, but the reason we have not seen the CGM cars is that is for Z28's ONLY.

And after fbodfather reads this post:
