Something just doesn't fit with this. They killed, took custody of the body and dump it in the ocean, after collecting a DNA sample. Sounds a little fishy?

Def Leppard and Heart are playing at The Wharf in June 19. Scott@Bjorn3D put a post up in another thread about getting together in OBA and I told him I would feel you guys out. The only kicker is that is a Sunday concert and most folks may have to work on Monday. So what about a Sat/Sun meet with the concert closing it out? We could cruise to Ft. Morgan on the west end of the island (about 50 miles round trip) on Saturday and then over to the Fairhope Pier on Mobile Bay Sunday for a brown bag lunch on the lawn and be back in OBA in time to freshen up and rock out! I've got a favorite watering hole and a place we can all do dinner Saturday night should you choose.

I've checked with my local hotel hook-up at the Island House Hotel (only hotel I use in OBA) and got a group rate of $159 a night (dbl queen beds or one king) including 2 tickets to the concert with a 2 night minimum . I know you say that rate is high, but remember, it is summer time and the rates are usually $199 a night, the hotel is nice (pool/bar/cafe/secure parking (I can have an area secured for us), did I say BAR) and you are getting to 2 tickets that go for $65 a piece. All we need is a minimum of 6 rooms booked to get this group rate.

Just a thought for a gathering. Yes, no, either way I'm going to the concert!

Just trying to see if there still is any interest in this. I haven't seen anything else from Scott@Bjorn3D and I'm going to see my hotel GM friend Thursday and wanted to be able to tell her something either way.

If we are not able to attend the concert on Sunday, I suppose the price of the room is still going to be $159?

Keep in mind that the Blue Angel Air Show on Pensacola, Beach is on July 10th. They will practice on July 9th. That might be a good time to show off our cars on the beach. Just something to think about!

Yes. The rooms are discounted down from $199.00 to $159.00 for the block. The tickets are an added bonus for the weekend. (just fyi: A non-Gulf View room at the New Hampton Inn is $239.00 a night + tax).

I'm still up for an event in June in OBA that weekend. If the concert idea doesn't pan out, we could still do a day trip Saturday to the Fort and the Fairhope Pier and have an early dinner in OB.
