I hear Magnuson is looking for a professional blower installer... Yours has been on and off so many times...

Seriously, I hope you finally get this sorted out...

Car will be going to Vengeance. Started it up yesterday and NO change. I have a lifter getting worse anyway. So I may just have them crack it open while it's up there.

I don't have a clue what it could be now. I knew the gaskets looked good but wanted to try it anyway.

If they're going to replace your lifters... as you said... this is a good time to do the cam (and torque converter). Get the LS3 conversion and be done with it. I know it's not cheap, but, imho, those DOD lifters are awful. Many have failed and there have been service bulletins about them. I had LS7 lifters put in mine.

I wish you could come up here and drive my car with the cam. The car pulls MUCH harder and is a much bigger beast than it was before. It feels like a bigger jump in power than when I had the maggie installed. The numbers say it's not, but it sure feels that way.

If you can swing it, you'd love it.

Good luck to you. You're about due for a great stretch of success with no issues!

Really?????

Dude if that is what it is I'll owe Randy at least a 12 pack.

It would be much better for his pocketbook if it is just a header leak. But it sounds awfully mechanical.

I was assuming tha since the noise goes away as it warms up that the lifter might be slow in pressurizing.

I'm no expert. An header leak would be great news

Quicker the better. Hahaha

I'm sooooo freaking curious as to what this surge is. Driving me crazy. The lifter knock is not new but been getting worse. It's separate. I think.

I'm not really wanting to spend too much. I'll have to make decisions as they come. I'd take a simple engine surge fix and no lifter problem if I could.

Don't they expand when they get hot? I initially thought header leak too. And figured maybe the manifold just got hot and expanded just enough.

I try and stay away from the moving parts. But I am ok I think unless I'm the one making the parts move.

Wow Randy, that does sound pretty bad. That's way worse than the proverbial "HEMI Tick" our Challengers are known for.

Glad to hear the shop's gonna come get it and get it fixed up. You did your best bro, and with as much effort as you put in trying to find the problem I'd have done the same thing in your shoes. It gets to a point where your time is worth more than to continue hunting for the problem.

Keep us posted.
