Was a bit warmer than I would have preferred(and of course its a beautiful 68*F right now the day after my dyno runs) but overall I was fairly happy with the results. Owner/tuner said his dyno reads about 10% lower than the other dyno's in town.
Cold Air Inductions intake, Texas Speed 1 7/8" Headers, cats deleted, QTP electric cut-outs, stock mid-pipe and mufflers. Run 1: Stock tune Run 2: After tuning Run 3: Electric cut-outs open. ![]() ![]()

Dyno Results
If the moderators want to pulls this thread that is OK but the drivetrain is like the 5th Gen Camaro. The motor is a L92 out of a 2007 Escalade but for all intent it is now a L99. The motor is in a 1965 Buick Skylark and has the 6L80 transmission. Has the TSP VVT3 camshaft with PRC CNC heads and the valve spring upgrade. Has Headman 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" stepped headers. 3" exhaust with a Pypes X pipe. Ported LS3 throttle body. 4" cold air intake made by yours truely.
This was done on a Super Flow chasis dyno which the owner says that it reads about 4% less than a Dyno Jet. I have no way to confirm that. The operator of the dyno was having a devil of a time keeping the transmission in 4th gear. He had to kind of roll into it with the accelerator pedal to keep the transmission from down shifting . In fact we only got one clean run and that is the graph posted. A little later we did get a 473rwhp reading and we did some more fuel trimming after that. Here is the one good graph. Edit. I forgot to say the tuner got this motor to idle at 700rpm. I did not think it would be posible with the VVT3 camshaft. Last edited by 1989GTA; 10-18-2013 at 10:54 PM. |

This is the first time I had a car tuned on a Super Flow dyno. See above post. I have used Dynojet mostly and my Tahoe once on a Dyno Dynamics. The Dyno Dynamics does read low compared to the others going by first hand experience. I did find this post from someone in the dyno business and found it interesting and probably close to the truth. As is often said a dyno is just a tool. The better it is in repeatability pull after pull the better you can see how the changes you are making in the pull affect the power output.
"The industry leader in number output by far is Dynojet. Their marketing in the mid-90's specifically used the larger output numbers as a selling item. Next is Mustang, generally about 7% less than Dynojet numbers. Superflow is about 3% less than Mustang. Dyna-Pak and Dyno Dynamics are about 3% less than Superflow. Ok lets make this point again to make sure it's clear. The SAME CAR on the DIFFERENT DYNOS. So our test vehicle output on the various dynos are as follows: Dyno Dynamics 200hp Superflow 206hp Mustang 214hp Dynojet 226hp" |

Does that run at the top say 434.9 torque? Any idea where you picked up that extra 28lbs of torque @ 150RPM lower?

I just realized something when I was looking at my dyno data sheet. See post 458. It looks to me as if this pull was done in 3rd gear instead of 4th going by the mph. I have the Drag Race 2000 simulation program and the mph and rpm matches pretty close with that in 3rd gear. If it was forth gear the mph would have been 120+mph at that rpm.
Here is the data sheet. Keep in mind in had to kind of roll into it in the lower rpms to keep from down shifting and in this case 2nd gear. I will have to get this car back on the dyno.
